Talk:Xinrae's Revenge

The January flux? Wow, that should be hilarious with dual-Onslaught teams. -- Hong 09:06, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

I don't get how this relates to Xinrae. 76.185.6.231 20:57, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Before skill updates. Mora 21:05, 1 January 2012 (UTC)
Ah thanks for that, Mora. The previous versions of the 'Xinrae' skills look kinda interesting. Do you know why they were changed? --Combatter 12:11, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Because they sucked, though they could have balanced them without losing the interesting functionality. Now Xinrae's Weapon at least doesn't suck, but they're boring as hell. 86.27.25.124 17:31, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
And now this is her revenge for changing the function of her skills. Da Mystic Reaper 20:28, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Descriptions[edit]

How come they didn't just use "players" instead of "members of your party and the opposing party" and "party and opposing party members"? Would have made the descriptions shorter and simpler. --72.137.250.214 21:26, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Alliance battles.--GerrohUser Gerroh GerrohEmblem.gif 21:35, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
That, and I prefer the extra wording for clarity. --Supernick530 19:52, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
It's not the end of the world if you have to take an extra 0.5 seconds to read a description, imo. Random Weird Guy 23:10, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Actually, all allies in the area during Alliance Battles have the same skill disabled, even allies in the other two parties, so the descriptions should state "players" as mentioned earlier in this section. --Silver Edge 04:13, 23 June 2013 (UTC)

Canthan New Year[edit]

Will this be turned off for Dragon Arena and Rollerbeetle? 24.197.253.243 21:39, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

This event is during early February, not January. -- Sagi User Sagittario Asura symbol.png 21:59, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Actually as it always coincides with the Chinese New Year it will fall on Jan the 23rd, so it will probably will effect the Canthan New Year events. It should occur either the weekend before 21st and 22nd of Jan or the weekend following 28th and 29th 188.28.174.28 02:06, 4 January 2012 (UTC) Anet have said they will make sure that the flux does not effect the RBR and DA events in January 188.28.174.28 02:48, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Not too game breaking as "in the area" is smaller than dragonblast cast range. At least this wasn't on during those last couple days of Wintersday snowball arena where most players aren't afraid to close the distance and main attack is the one skill. -Wrei110.175.241.56 03:08, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Random Arenas[edit]

Now when you get in a team with, say, 2 invokers, or two hammer wars, they are screwed xD First Samuel Il X 22:31, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

2 Hammer Wars maybe, but eles should be able to stay a decent range apart from each other. Random Weird Guy 14:06, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Ironically[edit]

This flux four years ago would have fixed Heroes' Ascent. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 23:21, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

I don't think anybody that's still playing was here four years ago. 67.149.248.3 02:48, 16 January 2012 (UTC)
I bought the game in the first month it came out in Europe and am still playing to this very day... i believe im not the only one. or was that not what you meant?83.86.4.29 14:06, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
The game in general would have been alot better, and it would have a much larger community then today. InfestedHydralisk 19:55, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

"...attacking while blind (or blocked)..."[edit]

"Similarly, attacking while blind (or blocked) interferes with the enemy's plans while adding little or no inconvenience to the player."

I don't understand this note at all. For a start just attacking surely does nothing.. u need to use an attack skill. And how does it have "little or no inconvenience to the player" when you still incur the cost (energy/adrenaline, activation and recharge times) of the attack skill without actually striking the foe? --Combatter 23:32, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Because that would happen anyway, and now it disables the same skill on everyone else's bars. - Adark 00:12, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
But I hardly think there is "little or no inconvenience to the player" and remember that this also disables skills of your party members in the area too --Combatter 01:14, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
I rephrased an existing note that was misleading in a different way. The idea is: if you are blind/blocked, you can use your own skills to disable the other teams'; this will have no additional impact on you (you've already been nerfed) → it's sort of a misery-loves-company type of skill. I'll try one more rephrasing, but I also think the article wouldn't suffer if it's removed entirely (it's somewhat obvious, I would hope). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:14, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
nvm - user:Robdalf beat me to it (a better phrasing than what I had in mind ftw) – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:16, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

"all members of your party and the opposing party who are in the area"[edit]

Does it only disable for party members in the area or does the "in the area" part only apply to the opposing party? 154.5.158.213 02:58, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

It applies it to all players "in the area". Both parties. Vald [Citation Needed] User Valdimir newsigicon.png 07:25, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Word of Healing[edit]

Because of its 3 second recharge, could you disable this skill on an enemy monk's bar by spamming this on recharge while staying in the area of the monk? Random Weird Guy 14:08, 4 January 2012 (UTC)

Yes you could but i doubt it is effective. Da Mystic Reaper 15:39, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Yeah unless you were actually speccing into and using Healing Prayers anyway it'd be kinda a waste of an elite imo. --Combatter 17:25, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
I was meaning as a WoH monk. Random Weird Guy 18:17, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Than the awnser is no. Da Mystic Reaper 19:00, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
The problem is that monks tend to be backliners and I'm not sure it would be wise to attempt to get "in the area" of the enemies backline as a backliner yourself. --Combatter 22:06, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Meta monks are tanks. Disciple's + shield = 91 armor under a condition. Then you have a 75% block chance and you should be able to lock-down the other monk using this strategy. 108.222.43.209 22:38, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Obviously you wouldn't run in right at the start, but after some time (i.e. when WoH is actually needed) the two opposing backlines are rarely parallel to each other. Random Weird Guy 23:06, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Or you could slap WoH on a Derv. -Wrei110.175.241.56 23:50, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
I found it more effective to dshot WoH and then spam Patient on 40/40 set 154.5.158.213 05:04, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Name Reference[edit]

The name is a reference to the old functionality of Xinrae's Weapon. It used to have a similar functionality to this flux but it was changed due to an inability to balance a powerful effect like this while still making it useful. 58.106.132.78 11:35, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Noise?[edit]

Perhaps it was my imagination but I thought I heard a strange noise when I had a skill disabled by Xinrae's Revenge - was I imagining it? If not, perhaps it is worth mentionning the noise in the notes. --Combatter 20:24, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

I never did pay any attention to it but now that you mention it it i noticed a sound similar to Power Block. Da Mystic Reaper 20:55, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Should a note be added to the page about the noise too now that one has been added about the animation? --Combatter 13:30, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Honestly[edit]

This is one of the better flux effects, and can be used quite skillfull. InfestedHydralisk 00:02, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Heroes' Ascent[edit]

Out of curiosity, how is HA coping with this flux? I can imagine Spike teams are having an interesting time. Random Weird Guy 23:38, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
