Anomaly[edit]

The new Xunlai Chests are in fact spawned as an NPC for them to function correctly. Due to the way our gadgets are coded, one could not function as a true vault thus the use of an NPC which behaves as a stationary object and looks like a Xunlai Chest. NPCs have levels, which explains why they are lvl 24. I'm sure the number was pretty arbitrary. A little fun fact: We first starting working on the chests during Nightfall production for use in the Desolation and Torment. Since the area is so barren we had hoped to use these inanimate objects in place of the living breathing Xunlai Agents but we could get them to stop rotating to face anyone who interacted with them. The decision was made to pull them out for a later release rather than having ridiculous spinning chests. - Linsey Murdock 22:37, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for this information, but is the level of a NPC not directly responsible for the size of a model? And the boxes are still rotating in Guild Halls if you are the first and only one who enters them. :) --BigBlueMonk 20.png talk 07:53, 25 June 2007 (UTC)
Actually, all the boxes everywhere will appear to be rotating if you are the first to enter any zone with them. The first thing they do is rotate to face a point which allows them to appear a little less haphazard. The difference with Guild Halls is that you are often the first in the zone and you are often within viewing distance of the chest so you actually catch it rotating. You'll notice this same behavior with all static NPCs. Level does not in fact have anything to do with size. We just have a standard of making higher level stuff bigger. The size is determined by the creature designers who create the species for us spawners to use. - Linsey Murdock 18:44, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

Adding a new article Xunlai Chest[edit]

I think we should add an own article Xunlai Chest as it's a feature of Guild Wars. I find it a little disturbing, that it's currently only a redirect as Xunlai Agents doesn't (directly) cover this functunality. --BigBlueMonk 20.png talk 07:58, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I was just about to say "Xunlai Chests aren't listed under storage o.0" I think i'll fix the problem... if i can :p I'll go research the Xunlai Chests then... lol aww i would have enjoyed spinning chests :( He Who Likes Arrows 09:10, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Male version[edit]

Does the male xunlai agent still exist anywhere? or was he removed with the addition of the interactive chests? --LemmingUser Lemming64 sigicon.png 01:38, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
