Talk:Zaishen Vanquish/cycles
Pattern[edit]
I think they're doing a pattern: factions, nightfall, eye of the north, prophecies. I predict this to last for 15 rotations, at which point prophecies will replace eye of the north. 18 rotations later they will be replace the factions zone with a prophecies one. One rotation later they will be finished. The merits to this pattern are numerous. One is that it fits rather nicely. Two, it means that if someone doesn't own a campaign they won't have to go long periods of time without having access to a ZV. Three, it prevents people from getting bored of a specific campaign. Four it deals rather nicely with the excess of prophecies zones.Indigo121 00:15, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
- April 1st update messed up the pattern. One would expect Prophecies vanquishes to appear more often instead of Factions. Darthlight 18:56, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
- The ratio of VQable areas are: 54:33:34:15 for Proph, Factions, NF, EotN. Roughly 3:2:2:1.
- So far, there have been 8:11:9:7 ZVQs; any patterns we have seen so far are unlikely to continue. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:44, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
More info[edit]
I think I may add campaign/region columns to this page just to see what's what. Might be useful for when the cycle repeats to see when you can earn bonus faction. St Lucretia 21:39, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Template[edit]
There should be a way to use Template:Cycle/ZVanquish on this page so that this page does not require the daily updates that it isn't getting. It is now a day behind. --War_Pig5 05:46, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how this would work, or how it'd be any easier. That displays the vanquish for that day, and if we made a template based on an inputted date, the date and new zone would have to be added to it every day just like this page, so there's not much point. Also, instead of complaining that things aren't being updated, update it yourself! It is a Wiki after all. ~FarloTalk 06:14, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
- We don't know the cycle yet. Also: it only needs the new VQ once and then it won't need updating after that. The reason it got lost today is the wiki was out for about 60-90 minutes right around when the new VQ came out. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:19, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Cycle too small?[edit]
The ZM handles all possible missions and the rest seem to be fitted to that cycle, but who says that ZV will keep using the 50-odd length cycle? There are many more explorable areas than missions and too many to fit them all in the current listed cycle, is there any reason we're presuming it will stick to the same cycle as the others or are we just basing that off past experience?
- Actually, just going by the dates on that table (03/03/2011 - 07/16/2011), there are ~120+ zone "slots", which I think is around the right number of zones there are total. I can only assume that table was made with 1 zone per day in mind, and we'll see in a few weeks if that's the same plan A-Net has. As far as I know, all the other Zaishen quests just restart the cycle when they've all been done, so it's easy to assume this will too. ~FarloTalk 04:45, 19 June 2011 (UTC)
What to do with this article?[edit]
All of the info has been out of date for over a month now. And I cannot imagine anyone adding a new column, especially since guildwiki has a really nifty automated page for it.
So what would be the point of this page now? An archive? Steve1 19:24, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- No worries, with about 3 minutes of typing.. copying the zone names / dragging excel cells / using notepad++ macro I updated it. -Chieftain Alex 20:25, 14 February 2013 (UTC)

Generation script[edit]
To generate more columns, you can run the script in this gist in the developer console of your browser (press F12 and paste the script text into the console). Increase the **27** at the end to generate more columns.
