can we remove the > and add the " into it? it annoys me that it doesn't put quotes - User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 10:49, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

"can we remove the > and add the " into it? it annoys me that it doesn't put quotes" You mean like Template:quote2? ~Celestia 10:52, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
yes never mind i made the change my self.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 10:58, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
never mind apparently quotes shouldn't be used when quoting something gg.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 11:12, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
I like it the way it is, you should use template:quote2 C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 11:13, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) We already have a template that does what you wanted, the only difference is a different colour. I've reverted your edit for now; start a discussion and see what other people think before you change the template (and all the pages that use the template). I for one am not a fan of the '>' either, but it would be best to discuss it before changing it. ~Celestia 11:15, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Anyone else having issues with the template example? It shows as quotations for me, so I went to change it back to the > but then it's there when I preview it...Caching error? ~Celestia 11:17, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) I support keeping. We have Quote2 and Quote3 if you really, really want the quotation marks. And Mystic, press the clock on the top of the page; it clears your cache. Titani Uth Ertan 11:18, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Aye, it's changed now. Hard refreshing wasn't working and I forgot about the clock. ~Celestia 11:20, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
I suggest we merge the various quote templates by adding a color variable. That way people can choose what color they wish to quote with. Oh, and a quote should have quotation marks. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 11:21, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
>"This" just doesn't look good for to me C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 11:24, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
I prefer "This". -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 11:26, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

(Reset indent) How about something like this: {{quote|Text here|old (leave blank if wyn version)}} I could probably set it up like that pretty fast C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 11:32, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

Add a color variable too? -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 11:35, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
I'll start working on it at my sandbox :D C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 11:36, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
(EC)the color for the second one i hate cant read it at all. i would rather any quote template use quotes BECAUSE its a Quote. simple logic is simple. if we could merge all of them and then just make it color friendly i think it would be good but i also think it needs to be easy to use other wise why have it when it takes just as long to do it the old fashion way. ie just add the quotes and color your self.- User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 11:39, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
Ok I've made it successfully, it will work this way {{quote|Text|old = y}} will turn into >Text, {{quote|Text}} will turn into "Text" and {{quote|Text|color = blue (or any other color)}} will turn into "Text" and finally {{quote|Text|old = y|color = blue}} will turn into >Text So is everybody happy with that and can I implement it? C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 11:59, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
looks good to me. now to add the basic {{quote|Text}} to the edit tool bar. - User Zesbeer sig.png Zesbeer 12:10, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
