Proposed change[edit]

Guild Wars games
Campaigns: Prophecies Factions Nightfall
Expansions: Eye of the North

needs some work, resizing the left section to something like 20% or something... but eh, I can't work it out at this time in the morning --Jamie (Talk Page) 20:57, 20 March 2007 (EDT)

New name[edit]

"Campaigns nav" is no longer a valid name since now we have expansion as well. So i propose a name change to something like, "GW Titles nav" or "GW Universe nav" or "GW nav". --Phoenix File:Phoenix-sig.png 05:44, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

I'd support Releases nav, Chapters nav or Features nav. - BeX 05:54, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

Utopia[edit]

Why don't keep a "Utopia (unreleased)" link in this nav? BigBlueUser Big Blue Icon.pngtalk 08:50, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Agree, keeping utopia on list with (cancelled) behind it would be great. Faalagorn 01:49, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Ok, done. BigBlueUser Big Blue Icon.pngtalk 16:15, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
I don't agree, since it's not a current release. I actually think this whole template needs a re-write. I'll make a new post / have a go when I get time. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 09:57, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Revert of my edit[edit]

Re: this. My reasoning was that this template should show actual standalone releasers of Guild Wars: i.e. any of the campaigns (and PvP Access Kit) or eye of the north, and their various bundles. The BMP is an updgrade that you have to add to an existing account, just like character slots or the fire imp. It doesn't belong on this template, it would be better placed in an "addons" nav. The PvP Access Kit, which needs more exposure as a viable option, is standalone and can be used to make a new account, so is technically a "release" of Guild Wars. I'm going to put it back on Thursday if there are no sensible explanations of why I should not do this. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 19:54, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

This template was originally the campaigns template, and got renamed just to fit in the BMP and EotN, which are the same from this perspective. If you dislike the name "release", you could propose something else.
Your notion that the BMP is an update may be due to you getting it for no extra cost in the EotN promotion, but that's just apperances. It's actually a standalone expansion. Backsword 15:29, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

Addition of Guild Wars Starter Pack[edit]

There is (was?) in the shops an edition of GW including all 3 base campaigns with a 14-day 20 hour trial (not 10 like in buddy hey), all in slim DVD case w/o any further addition - just a case and DVD. AFAIK it was released in Poland (I have one), UK [1] and possibliy any other European Countries. Maybe someone will add it to the template? Contact me if you need more info about the Starter Pack Edition. Faalagorn 01:49, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
(I think it could become unnoticed, since I posted 2 things at once, so – bump :)). Faalagorn 22:14, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Following from the previous two topics, I think this template needs a complete overhaul since it does not currently accurately reflect the releases / package options. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 22:20, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
So Biscuit, is there any discussion about that already in progress? If you want to change the template, you could suggest your comment, so all of us can do it together (it's a wiki after all). I would love to help with the template. Faalagorn 23:28, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
There hasn't been any discussion really. I would like to, but I'm way too busy at the moment for wiki business. I will start one if I get time, but I'll keep checking back in case anyone starts to move things along. Biscuits User Biscuits sig.png 12:27, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

Game of the Year (Prophecies)[edit]

Shouldn't "Game of the Year Upgrade" be listed in "upgrades" as well? It is (supposed to be) used to upgrade regular "Guild Wars: Prophecies" (which isn't available from online store anymore) to "Guild Wars: Game of the Year Edition". --NIN37 15:50, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

Sorrow's Furnace[edit]

Game updates/20050907 - should be in here somewhere, no? User Rose Of Kali SIG.jpgRose Of Kali 15:46, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Utopia[edit]

was cancelled well before it was close to being an actual release. I feel it does not belong in a nav for releases. It was originally added to this nav due to being somewhat unknown, but the wiki has since included it in a sizeable number of articles now. horrible | contribs 13:58, 25 March 2022 (UTC)

Technically, you'Re right. If we'd replace "cancelled" with "unreleased" it would be even more hilarious. Nevertheless, I'd keep it in the nav box. Steve1 (talk) 12:37, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
