General Reasoning[edit]
- Blue Text
- Note that WHILE paragon is used for Heroic Refrain, there is nothing that says that another paragon wouldn't be useful.
- Also, it is relevant to have this page to include paragon skills that might be particularly useful for paragaon secondaries.
Generally Useful Paragon Skills[edit]
Motivation[edit]
- The entire motivation attribute is intresting because it is normally off-limits (but not in here, as discussed elsewhere).
- Also, it is particularly useful because it can grant energy to allies, which is exponential disprop for several professions.
- Energy gain for other allies

- Aria of Zeal Is Disp due to being an energy management skill, while ALSO synergizing with any players who havae % reduction, e.g Rangers & Ritualists.
- Energizing Finale - Normally SUCKS, but could be very viable here for the reasons above. ALSO, it is MUCH MORE effective if having an assassin that spams "Go For the Eyes" (remember that this is just a nice secondary effect, the MAIN reason for spamming this skill is to boost the dmg for the minions).
Interesting skills speciffically when paragon SECONDARY[edit]
- "Fall Back!" - Speed boost and healing
- "Go for the Eyes!" - To boost minion damage, trigger Echoes and help refresh heroic refrai.
- Hexbreaker Aria - In theory decent party-wide hex removal.

BUILDS[edit]
MAIN PARAGON BUILD[edit]
- Note that while 16 Leadership is needed to max HR, it does NOT have to come from a superior rune; E.g If using Candy Corn and Golden Eggs, 14 leadership is enough, and a superior rune is actually WASTED because the attribute becomes maxed at 20 anyway.
- Must Haves
- "They're on Fire!" - Effective for maintaining HR. Also great because it has a percentage dmg reduction, synergizing with HR.
- Blazing Finale - EPIC synergy with "They're on fire" as long as the team has at least 1 melee; Especially if it is combined with "Go for the eyes" spam, since this will constantly apply burning on nearby foes.
- Top-prio (non pve)
- "Go for the Eyes!" - Boosts minion damage, triggers a bunch of Echos, and grants a bunch of energy.
- Aria of Zeal - [See general discussion above.] - Note that this is superflorous if the re is for example a touch ranger using BiP (if using this skill, drop the Bip from this char)
- Energizing Finale - [See general discussion above.]
- Verata's Gaze - if secondary prof is free, is is convenient especially for a Hero Team, since heroes might be bad at using this effectively.
- Hexbreaker Aria - Party-Wide Hex Removal, grants energy from leadership, triggers Finales (like Energizing or Blazing) and benefits from "For Great Justice" just like "Go for the Eyes".
- NOTE: This might actually NOT be great for energy management since: it has a 2s activation time and overcast, during which time the paragon does not attack, granting no adrenaline for "Go For the Eyes". AS SUCH: A paragon simply using "Go For the Eyes" likely ends up with almost the same amount of energy.
- "Fall Back!" - For boosting party speed and healing minions between fights.
- "Brace Yourself!" - Adds nice area damage
- "Stand Your Ground!" - Powerful additional protection.
- Angelic Protection - At 20 Leadership, it makes the maximum amount of damage the player can take per second 50! Even though it has a long recharge, that makes it very interesting! ESPECIALLY if having any recharge time reduction, in particular QZ! .

- TOP PRIO-PvE skills (note that only 2 can be used due to HR)
- Ebon Battle Standard of Honor - EPIC due to (potentially) extreme amounts of minions.
- Ebon Battle Standard of Wisdom - Very likely a good idea (as discussed ALOT on different sections in this project), e.g due to its synergy with AwS, Fast Casting, Tranquility Dervish, etc.
- Technobabble - I suspect it might be BETTER than Ebon Wisdom Ward [In the First Draft build] because (1) Most skills (especially for the mesmers) already have very short recharge times, and not necessarily energy to back it up. (2) The Daze from Technobabble both increases the damage from the Wastrel skills AND Fragility.
- Other PvE-skills
- "There's Nothing to Fear!" - Questionable since "They're on Fire!" already reduces damage. Note that this is NOT inferior to save yourselves, since that skill just reduces armor-respecting damage.
- "Save Yourselves!" - Questionable since "They're on Fire!" already reduces damage.
- Air of Superiority - If killing flesta at a high enough rate, the instans recharge effect alone can have nice synergy with many skills, like
- Angelic Protection
- Aria of Zeal
- Other skills (NOT top-prio)
- Bladeturn Refrain - Can give a 25% permanent block due to being DISPROP. However, remember that "Go For the Eyes" only requires 13 command, so the command rank is generally (at the time of writing) very low.
- Low Prio
- Anthem of Envy - Likely good if running a heavy martial team, but this is not something i do atm.
General GEAR[edit]
- Assumed attribute bonuses
- ARMOR: +2 each attribute [Major rune], and +1 in one attribute from helm
- NON-ARMOR: +7 [+4 from H3, +3 from Cons (grail, egg, corn)]
- Minimum attributes (AFTER ALL BONUSES, including cons)
- 16 Leadership
- 13 Command -> "Go for the Eyes" is effectively maxed out at 13 (confirmed by testing) [This might change if the build uses other skills though.]
- 9 Spear Mastery
- NOTE: Because of the large amount of combinations with runes and cons, i just list the minimum bonuses here.
- Minimum attributes (After ARMOR bonuses)
- 9 Leadership
- 4 Command -> "Go for the Eyes" is effectively maxed out at 13 (confirmed by testing) [This might change if the build uses other skills though.]
- 3 Spear Mastery (Add 1 extra to cover for weakness OR if grail isn't used)
- Other attributes:
- 12 Death Magic is OK (since max increase from cons is 8)
- Max 13 Motivation [due to +7]
- Gear
- SPEAR: Head: Silencing of Furious Spear, +30 Hp, +5 e.
- Shield [Standard]
Suggestion - Assuming energy management is not needed (e.g Party has BiP)[edit]
- Necro secondary
- Leadership
- Command
- [Low] Death Magic
- [Low] Spear Mastery; assuming cons are used, just 2 spear mastery is enough (+4 from BR, +3 from cons).
- Advantages over warrior build: (1) Can convert Minions, (2) Angelic Protection privides great support
- Warrior secondary
- Leadership
- Command
- Motivation
- Spear Mastery; assuming cons are used, just 2 spear mastery is enough (+4 from BR, +3 from cons).
- Advantages over the Nec build:
- (1) Has better energy management.
- (2) Can use "Go for the Eyes" more frequently, boosting minion damage and providing more energy for the other skills.
- (3) Grants energy to allies, which there is much room to boost Motivation.
- Note [For the First Draft]: While the Hexbreaker Aria is nice, if Verata's is not used, the other mesmer can use Shatter Hex to remove hex spells.
