About me[edit]

I started playing Guild Wars in October of 2006 after finally "retiring" from StarCraft. I bought Prophecies first, was immediately hooked, and shortly thereafter picked up Nightfall and Factions. My first guild disbanded after the guild leader quit the game and last guild has slowly died off to the point that I was the only active members. I am ronin now, searching for a good guild and not having much luck.

I like playing martial classes, even though my first character was a Monk. I dislike playing Rangers, though I acknowledge their usefulness. I've only played an Elementalist as a PvP blindbot. I've never played a Mesmer.

I have completed each campaign on multiple characters. I play mostly with Heroes and Henchmen and when I do, my preference is a group of 2 humans and 6 heroes. However, I try as often as possible to find real people to group with on primary quests and missions just for the sake of human interaction and the chance to learn/teach/have fun/make new friends. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But suffering through a terrible PUG is worth it if you can convince the N/A assassin to give up the daggers, or teach a monk to drop Meteor Shower and add Reversal of Fortune, or meet another competent and cool player. I've had good luck meeting lots of nice people in the game, people I look for as soon as I log on to the game. Most of them are very skilled and grouping with them makes this game an absolute delight to play even if we're doing the same mission for the seventh or eighth time. Some of them aren't that skilled but are very adaptable and willing to learn. All of them have taught me a thing or two. That doesn't mean I haven't met my share of jerks, beggars, and just plain bad players but most of my memorable moments are of good times, not bad.

At this point in the game I am focusing on having fun. My most immediate goal was to beat Mallyx the Unyielding on my Paragon but those missions are so boring I've put that goal aside for the time being. Now I am working on (1) finding a good, active guild, and (2) buying at least one set of ascended armor for each of my characters. After that? We'll see.

My characters[edit]

Secondary Characters (farming characters, PvP characters, mules and characters I've grown bored of)[edit]

  • Monk Artemis Charrbane (Protector of Tyria now relegated to mule status)
  • Necromancer The Dwimmerlaik (Protector of Tyria, Protector of Cantha, now a 55 farming character)
  • Ranger Armando the Swift (Protector of Cantha, UW solo trapper)
