Wiki FAQ Regina (20090612)[edit]

Traditionally skill updates have occured monthly. However, as of June 12, 2009 for this current year there have only been 3 updates out of 6 months. The wording of the policy on the FAQ is as follows...

"We do not have a published schedule for monthly maintenance updates, so we can’t provide you with a specific date or time that the update will be coming. Maintenance updates may include bug fixes, skill updates, Tonic updates, and Tournament Reward Point distribution."

The phrase "updates may include bug fixes, skill updates, Tonic updates, and Tournament Reward Point distribution" is clearly an attempt to avoid accountability for something. However, since "may" applies to every possible instance of a monthly update wouldn't this mean that monthly updates may or may not occur? If monthly updates may not occur, then they are obviously not monthly. Why would they say monthly updates may include something, if an update includes nothing it never occurs. This is clearly an attempt to avoid accountability. For what is the question, and that is limited to a few things. Tonic updates, which since being added have been on time with each monthly update so that is not it. Tournament reward points, which have a history of being released after monthly updates (there may be a quote somewhere by a dev saying they are not linked to monthly updates), so these are not what is being avoided. Bug fixes, which is possibly what they are trying to avoid being upheld to every month. Finally skill updates, which is likely what they are avoiding accountability for.
