Chess rule variation

Generally, we follow the official rules of FIDE on this page.

Please note, though: By the official rules, castling is only allowed if

1. Neither King nor Rook have been moved during the game.
2. Neither King nor Rook nor any file inbetween are occupied by another piece or attacked by an enemy piece.

(point 3.8 a.ii.(2); just pointing this out because many ppl around here (irl) don't know)

These variations apply for games here:

• When a pawn reaches the file furthest from its starting position, it may only be exchanged for a piece previously captured. If there is no valid captured piece to exchange, the pawn is taken out of play as if it had been captured. (As of the official rules it would be legal to take a second Queen)
• No en passant moves. (See the rules if you don't even know what that is :P)
• We're not counting points.

But when I now searched it up again to find the true source I realised it said "A text from Shakespear's time", which obviously doesn't mean it was Shakespear's text.
