1. Any weapon that autoattacks for 100+ damage and hits for 150 with a 3-second recharge attack skill is overpowered. Also, scythes just happen to hit AoE, which is an added bonus (on top of how broken they already are).
2. No, it certainly doesn't. Being bad at the game and being unwilling to learn are the trademarks of a "noob." There are great PvE players, just as there are great PvP players.
3. That's sort of a red herring. It's his job to balance the game. He can live his life all he wants, but when he does a poor job at balance, I'm going to call him on it. Notice, however, that I rarely blame Izzy for most of the balance failures - it's his higher-ups that prevent most of the key changes from going through.
4. ArenaNet took a game I spent over $250 on and dashed it against the rocks. The least they are obliged to do is make it not suck again. I don't really care about them adding new shit, I just want them to fix their mistakes.
5. You don't have to grind? Are you talking about the same Guild Wars I am? In order to play the game at all you have to grind. Whether it's grinding areas for vanq title, grinding rep for PvE armor, or grinding fame/champ points so you can join better groups, you are going to be grinding at some point or another, in both PvE and PvP. Hell, simply playing through some of the terrible missions on each character is grind.
Guild Wars used to have far less grind. Titles didn't exist. PvE title-based armor vendors didn't exist. ArenaNet specifically added more and more grind into the game, so if anyone is to blame for it, it's them. Either way, I don't really care about the grind factor. I play WoW, which has more grind, I'll admit - but it is a far better game, particularly in PvE. I don't want ArenaNet to remove grind. I want them to make the game fun.
And, as always, "if you don't like it, don't play it" is terrible logic, especially in a MMORPG (or single player RPG, as GW PvE tends to be). -Auron 03:25, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

There are many things wrong with this page. The most prevalent problem is probably ignorance. Neither Auron nor I are deprecating the game in any way. Many parts of it suck, and we're pointing to them and explaining why.
One can show mathematically that scythes are by far the best weapon in the game. Games are supposed to be about choice, and not much choice is involved when it's between "Damage" or "More damage."
Playing pve does not make you a noob. This is correct. However, PvP players are better at combat than PvE players, and this is highly demonstrable. Ever wonder why so many top guild players have fow/tormented weapons on all their characters? It's because they farm FoW faster than you do. PvP players push their awareness and strategic abilities much farther than pve players do.
Nobody cares that "they do more than they're obliged to" (and they don't, by the way). Our complaints are with game balance updates. They not only do them - they do them badly. If they're going to do an update, they might as well do it rightor not do it at all, instead of having 20 terrible updates in a row. They are also good at lying to the community, not giving a shit, and Completely lying through their teeth and wasting time on a heavy update that will change nothing.
I don't have to play the game, but if someone is gonna sell me something, then break it, I want my money back, or I at least want them to fix it. ~Shard User Shard Sig Icon.png 03:25, 16 October 2009 (UTC)
