Armor formatting

I was thinking, maybe it is time to write the armor formatting guide. Do you want to do that, or should I? I know you're more likely to think of all the small occasions and bring up all details that I always forget, but I could also make a start and you can just put the details in.. I don't know, it feels like a huge page to do, it's overwhelming me :P - Anja Astor 14:12, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

I'll start it. :) - BeXoR 23:37, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

Skill infobox

Hey BeXoR, since I know you share my interest in infoboxes I thought I should draw your attention to the latest iteration of User_talk:LordBiro/Skill box draft 5. Since User CSS is now enabled it is possible to preview the skill box as it will appear in articles. LordBiro 06:23, 3 April 2007 (EDT)

Interactive Objects Infobox

Hey BeXoR, just was wondering if you'd care to share a few thoughts on whether or not to use the Item infobox for interactive objects (bundles, chests, wurm spoors, catapults, etc...) or use another infobox for them as under discussion here. Cheers. --Indecision 02:51, 10 April 2007 (EDT)

On the wagon

Have you given up caffeine? LordBiro 11:30, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

Nah, I'm trying to cut down on the sugar and processed foods though. I was getting my caffiene from pepsi and I'm staying away from soft drinks. :P Now I just rely on apples and bananas to make me hyper. - BeXoR 12:11, 13 April 2007 (EDT)
I love Pepsi! I used to drink a lot of Pepsi Max (so much that it became a running joke with my friends and family) but then I decided that I should lead a more healthy lifestyle, so now I drink mostly green tea. And other teas. I like tea. I also used to eat a lot of mars bars, and I tried to give up chocolate, but that hasn't gone so well :P LordBiro 13:05, 13 April 2007 (EDT)
I've tried limiting myself with a similar history too. I'm into Earl Grey tea now and try not to drink more than a glass of pop a day at most. Weird how pop started giving me headaches and a glass of water fixes everything now. Old age setting in I guess. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 13:10, 13 April 2007 (EDT)
Pepsi Max was my weakness too. But it's amazing how much better you feel overall when you stop eating processed food. I do the groceries for my boyfriend and I, so it's my responsibility to choose healthy foods. I'm doing okay so far, but I found some cookies in the pantry that I couldn't resist. :P Now days, I buy everything low fat, low sugar (when I can) and get as much as possible fresh. I used to kill for deep fried chicken, but now I'd rather a plate of boiled string beans! - BeXoR 13:31, 13 April 2007 (EDT)

X-color to x-color

May I just ask why you are changing X-color to x-color (and same with the professions)? :) - Anja Astor Anja Astor (talk) 06:49, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

I was fixing up profession ordering and adding the template code to some articles. I just prefer it lower case, because the ranger one must be lower case and then it's consistent. I also prefer to start any template with lower case unless there are other capitalized words in the title. - BeX 09:44, 17 April 2007 (EDT)
Ah, I know {{r}} must be lower case, but I meant about the profession color templates. :) I find lower case to look unfinished, I think you should not start with it except in special cases. But I guess it's the rules from the Swedish classes that tells me it should be upper case :P As long as we don't go around changing eachothers articles just for the use of lower or upper case, there should be no problem using them both. As Biro said, changing an article takes loads of more work for the server than to actually perform a redirect.. So, let's not have a upper-case lower-case war ;) - Anja Astor Anja Astor (talk) 09:57, 17 April 2007 (EDT)
I know - the only cases where I changed them were when I was already editing the article for another reason. - BeX 09:59, 17 April 2007 (EDT)
Yea, I thought so, though I didn't check very closely. :) - Anja Astor Anja Astor (talk) 10:02, 17 April 2007 (EDT)

Goodnight to you :)

This wikicode is weird, but goodnight, and have a good day tomorrow. BigRuss 10:11, 24 April 2007 (EDT)

Regular -> Standard

Why did you change Regular to Standard on the armor art pages (Canthan armor for example)? It was you who introduced the term regular in the separate armor art pages (like Assassin Canthan armor), why not be consistent? I used standard before, but you changed it to regular over there, now you're doing the opposite :P - Anja Anja Astor (talk) 05:51, 26 April 2007 (EDT)

I actually couldnt remember what the proper word was when I started using regular, but I knew there was something else. When I saw on the art pages that someone had put standard I was like aha! that's the word I was looking for! This is what I get for doing everything when I'm half asleep. - BeX 08:03, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
Well, I used standard in the separate armor art pages and you changed it to regular, iirc. :P But what to use then? - Anja Anja Astor (talk) 08:10, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
If I changed it I was probably just pasting a whole paragraph and just changing the art name. Regular sounds ugly, so go with standard. I'll change any articles when I see it. - BeX 09:26, 26 April 2007 (EDT)
Oh bleh. All the armors which have a standard counterpart use the word regular atm. I agree with you though, standard sounds better. - Anja Anja Astor (talk) 10:45, 26 April 2007 (EDT)

Bex, when you get a chance can you check your email for the Special Event Helm proposal, tell me what you think -- Scourge User Scourge Spade.gif 00:29, 28 April 2007 (EDT)

Q

How is abaddon a demon? He is a god and is in the list of Gods.--Eloc 03:39, 29 April 2007 (EDT)

Lightbringer's Gaze. God isn't a species. - BeX 03:43, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
Sure, god is a species. They are just a highly advanced and powerful species. They have kids like any other species and everything.--Eloc 03:48, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
That depends on your religious beliefs. Who is to say that being a God isn't your profession? And in real life if we did decide our God or Gods were a species, it would have a scientific name, not "God".
In Guild Wars we determine species by other means. If all of the gods were in a room together and we used EOE, would they all take damage? At the moment there is no way to tell, so the "species" called "God" doesn't exist. We use the information we have, not jump to conclusions. - BeX 03:53, 29 April 2007 (EDT)
Lol, God is more a profession I would say. Ever watched Bruce's Almighty? :D -- ab.er.rant sig 00:54, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
Yeah, because I base everything I know off hollywood movies... -AuronMy Talk 01:01, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
Well here's another example then. In a lot of mythology the gods are replacements for old "evil" gods, for example, the Olympian gods replaced the Titans, and no doubt the Titans would have been worshipped as gods when they were in charge. If you had to scietifically categorise old and new gods, they would surely be different sorts of beings. I'm not up to scratch on Guild Wars lore, so I can't really draw an example from that, but I'm sure the different races, like the dwarves or even the White Mantle worship "gods" other than the 5/6 "true" gods. - BeX 01:28, 30 April 2007 (EDT)

Anyone consider the thought that the term "god" or "God" meant something very different in this game? It may not be identically defined by Webster as in GW. Therefore, a god/God in GW could mean "oatmeal" for example (though I;m sure it doesn't - it's just an example). It's a fantasy game. Don't get too crazy with the whole ethics of it. --File:VallenIconwhitesmall.JPG Vallen Frostweaver 09:18, 30 April 2007 (EDT)

Eh, the point is you can't be sure without testing it the way we determine the species of other creatures in the game. - BeX 10:37, 30 April 2007 (EDT)
