I use HydraIRC, but there are a few IRC applications that can be downloaded after a bit of searching. I haven't figured the IRC UI and functions out yet, besides the basic stuff, so I don't know much more than that. You'd be better off asking Aiiane or Dir or Tanetris or Poke for something like that. No, I start HydraIRC. I press CTRL + S, which brings up a prompt allowing you to choose which server to connect to. Then I type in http://irc.gamesurge.net, and the irc.gamesurge.net channel comes up. Type in /gww to join GWW's channel. First time users need to create identities first for HydraIRC, though.
