GW vs the rest
Can I ask you why you picked "Warhammer Online"? From what I hear, it's basic design philosophy is just the things you dislike with current GW PvE. Backsword 16:28, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Well, he plays Warhammer miniatures, so maybe that was a consideration ;) — kyrasantae 20:34, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, I started playing Warhammer as a miniature game 11 years ago, and I've also played a multitude of other Games Workshop games during the years. Warhammer Online was the first ever MMO to get me interested (I read about it in the monthly Warhammer magazine when they started development), and that was years and years ago when they first started developing it, long before games like WoW and GW existed. Since that time it has changed developer companies and drafts too many times to count, but I'm still waiting for it. It might not be the perfect game for me, but it might as well be. Besides, I would need to disagree with "it's basic design philosophy is just the things you dislike with current GW PvE". What I dislike in GW PvE is the ultimate imbalance (ie it is too easy for players) and the fact that one skill rules the meta game. As far as I know WAR is not having just one skill that rules the whole game and there's yet no information on how balanced or easy the PvE part of the game is. Besides, the game will probably lighten up my interest in the PvP part of MMOs if it's done well.
- And who wouldn't like to play a Squig Herder if they've ever played with Warhammer miniatures? ;) -- (gem / talk) 02:44, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

- You may be right. The way you put it here is not in such conflict as the way I read you earlier. Perhaps I conflated your views with those that were posting in support of you. I guess it depend on what one means with "easy". If it means 'Quick, low effort win', then yes, I haven't heard anything pointing in that direction. If anything, the other way. OTOH, if ones mean' mindless, skilless win', then that's seems to be the way things are going. Backsword 08:01, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, many of the supporters are definitely not thinking like I am, judging by their comments. -- (gem / talk) 04:54, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
- Warhammer Online is already a sinking boat and it isn't even out yet. The publisher is forcing them to release early, so the company had to cut 4 capital cities and 4 classes. I've played it in beta, and it is a pretty terrible game. It wants to be WoW but with Warhammer and is so undone there is no way they can polish it by the time the publisher wants them to release it. There is literally a quest to kill 100 of something. So dumb. It's going to be another Age of Conan-esque failure unless if some kind of MIRACLE happens, which won't because even if they worked 24/7 they couldn't get the game to a good place by launch. :( DarkNecrid 18:04, 8 August 2008 (UTC)

Nerf
Hmm hmm. I think Ursan better now, but still seems too good. Anyone know if Ursan teams are getting rarer? And why the boost to almost every PvE-only skill, even those which definitely didn't need one? Boosts to the lowpower PvE-only skills and a lot of the poor elites are good though. -- (gem / talk) 17:57, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
- Most of the boosts to the PvE-only skills, from what I looked at, were only to the bottom of the range, so people with high rank in the associated title don't see benefit, but people with only 1 or 2 ranks do. More levelling out the playing field for non-grinders than really buffing. - Tanetris 18:29, 8 August 2008 (UTC)
