I read the entire story for mythology class. For english IV, they gave us a highly butchered up version of it. Entire sections of it are completely missing, with a half-assed summary in place. Like ,at the end, it gives a speech, cuts out the entire fucking fight with the dragon, and then comes back in with another speech. But the work I gotta do is: list 20 kennings, the line they are on in the book, and who/what they describe, and then list 10 christian and 10 pagan references in the story, as well as the line they are on. Since the butchered version we read screwed up the lines, it doesn't match the original story at all. So I can't use the real story , and we don't have an english book to take home. And I don't have any free periods at school, and this year the teachers and principal are really bitchy about people walking the halls during class, so you can't ever leave the rooms.
