About wards[edit]

http://wiki.guildwars.com/index.php?title=Ward_spell&diff=2212470&oldid=2212457
Wards are stationary, agree (no reason to discuss this, really). I think that though the ward-like skills can have many differences from true wards, they are similar in creating "magical effect lasting for a period of time" in certain area. BTW, the expression "ward-like area" has been mentioned before me in the Reverse Polarity Fire Shield article. I can suppose that those 2 skills can be classified as belonging to a more generic set of long-lasting AoE skills; in this case wards and wells are also belonging to this set (currently their supertype is only "spell"). If you have understood the idea, please tell what you think about. --Slavic 20:12, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

I do understand what you're getting at, but my issue that "ward-like" doesn't really have a definition. What about Golem Fire Shield and Reverse Polarity Fire Shield makes them more ward-like than any other skill with a lasting area of effect? If it's the fact that the impact is continuous instead of in pulses and doesn't require a corpse, keep in mind that Aura of the Juggernaut, Protector's Defense, many environment effects, Corrupted Dragon Scales/Spores, several binding rituals, and others also fit the criteria. I don't see the merit in grouping these otherwise unrelated skills together, but that is of course my opinion and it may be shortsighted. --Irgendwer 21:23, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
I understand your point, it's reasonable, thanks! Probably I meant one common feature of wards and golems area skills - visibility of the area on the ground, most other AoE skills are not marked in such way, however, it's only a representation and not a game mechanics. It would be much better to find the deep common features rather than visible effect, it's a subject to think about. --Slavic 17:30, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Consuming tonics[edit]

It's the same thing you do. You consume two tonics in quick succession, it doesn't matter if you are moving or not, so the first "method" isn't a method at all as you can't consume them any slower when running compared to standing still. We might as well add a note saying you can consume two tonics while dancing or playing guitar. --Manassas User Manassas Mannysig.png 11:58, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

"you can't consume them any slower when running compared to standing still." Yes, you can. If you stand at one end of Lion's Arch and click on the other end, you can use two tonics as slowly as you like before you stop moving. --Irgendwer 12:06, 7 January 2011 (UTC)
I stand corrected. I couldn't get that to work when I tested it the other day. Must have been too drunk after all. --Manassas User Manassas Mannysig.png 19:17, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Murakai can't be interrupted[edit]

re: this edit

I'm almost sure I've interrupted her in HM, but it's been a while since she's invited us over for tea (so you probably have more recent...and more credible experience). What type of interrupts have you tried? Thanks.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 23:01, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Only Cry of Frustration and Psychic Instability in recent memory. More tests would probably be a good idea. --Irgendwer 23:13, 30 March 2011 (UTC)
CoF is generally very reliable. I'll bring a couple of other things next time. thanks for the info. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Tennessee Ernie Ford (talk).
Any time. --Irgendwer 23:43, 30 March 2011 (UTC)

Minor edits that make a big difference[edit]

Your recent edit for White Mantle was a small, but I like the rephrased sentence a lot better than its predecessor. Nicely done.  — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:17, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. It's nice of you to say so. --Irgendwer 03:27, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Yes, burning confusion[edit]

Yes, I was confused by the difference between the burning and the skill animation of Burning Speed. Thank you for clarifying. – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 19:20, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

No problem. --Irgendwer 19:22, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
