  1. I think they've made this more complicated than it needs to be.
    • If you don't meet the requirements: all foci provide +6 energy, with the follow exceptions that provide only +3:
    • Quest rewards, Proph/Factions foci, end-game greens, and PvP items.
  2. I am not sure that recent research bears out these results (IIRC, this is a near-copy of what used to be on Guild Wiki, and later research showed that things had changed...or were never documented correctly).

Accordingly, I think we should retest everything here before publishing. (At least, it's easier to test energy gain than Armor!) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:53, 1 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for your help! I was on teamspeak with the people who tested this (same people who also helped with the armor testing), and according to them this list was correct. But I think we can verify it ourselves :). Anyway, it might seem easier, but with these things the trouble lies in collecting all the different weapons :(. Corrected (I think) some of the translations in the table. The exception note at the bottom in German I think means (took a little liberty with the translation):
"There are no foci with a base energy value under +6 that have a requirement. The only exceptions are collector foci from Shing Jea Island collectors. These have a base value of +4 energy and a requirement of 1. These foci grant +3 energy if their requirement is not met." User Judas Sig.pngudas 20:10, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
Judas' translation of the annotation is correct. Our data was collected at the end of april 2011 (thus quite fresh), we did not even test nearly all foci though, since we have a much smaller community contributing. The table was extrapolated out of about 50 results.
You can shorten the table, that's right, but we wanted to stick with 'easy' groups instead of long enumerations within one group. You could say ...with the exceptions that provide only +3:
  • non-green Quest rewards (which are always non-max), crafted or green Proph/Factions foci, end-game greens, PvP items, and non-max green Nightfall/EotN drops.
However, our table also shows that there are no non-max crafted foci from Nightfall for example, or no regular max foci (not greens) from quests. That's another reason for that 'complicated' layout, which was by the way easier to read in the original, since the template was not adapted. I felt free to change that.
Note that the 'Green Quest rewards' category is only made for Gwen's Flute (unique) and the Rose Focus.
We also tested The Bison Cup and Zehtuka's Horn, both work as intended. –User ARTy sig.png 17:31, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
