Ok ... so I'm trying to upload a new version of the image I uploaded originally ... but nothing seems to be happening. I went via the 'Upload New Version' bit but it's still just not doing much. Where am I going wrong?(Kiyoshi Ryuu 23:48, 19 January 2009 (UTC))

The wiki's image cache is really slow. It can take some time for an image to update itself. You're doing things right, just upload a new version and give it time to update. :) -- Wandering Traveler 23:53, 19 January 2009 (UTC)

Okay....of curiosity, which image is it? There may be a small problem with the actual image. Also, you might try pressing Cntrl + F5. this purges the servers cache and forces it to update the contents; in this case the image. It's the image posted next to the details about my character. I tried the Cntrl + F5 suggestion, nothin'. It could quite possibly be a problem with the image itself then >,<;; (Kiyoshi Ryuu 18:40, 22 January 2009 (UTC))

That'd be the image yes! But ... it's not showing up for me o.o And I've changed the coding on my page to put that in too. It's just ... I dunno ... not there or something o.O (Kiyoshi Ryuu 10:02, 23 January 2009 (UTC))

Ahh, I see whats going on....wiki codes pretty picky. I'll explain this the best I can.

There are some lines of code in your character infobox that look like this...

| float = center

| name = Kiyoshi Ryuu

| image_show =

| "Image:User Kiyoshi Ryuu Kiyoshi Ryuu Updated Version.jpg"

Apparently your image name and the character name have to be the same. So your old image, [[:Image:User Kiyoshi Ryuu Kyoshi Ryuu]] is showing becuase the name parameter is named as such. When I changed the charater name in the character box to Kiyoshi Ryuu Updated Version, as your new image was named, it corrected itself. I'm not sure why the infobox does that, as the image parameter should have corrected that. If you want, I can reupload your new image to the correct name so that it updates itself.

Still, thats pretty weird. I havent seen a character infobox ever do that.... -- Wandering Traveler 14:25, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Okay, I've reuploaded the image and tagged the updated one for deletion (since its redundant with the one we replaced). Now we can let the slow image cache get to work on updating it. Once its updated there shouldnt be a problem :) -- Wandering Traveler 21:05, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Show preview

Hi Kiyoshi! Did you know you can use the Show preview button while you are making small changes to your page to see how it will look without having to save each time?
