star burst[edit]

I removed the note that you'd added, and while its true + I was originally going to add the opposite note to Channeling, I wouldn't say that there is a particular pattern one way or the other. Attunement/Aura of Resto/Elemental Lord spells grant as multiple packets. Stuff like Glowing Gaze etc drops it as one packet too. -Chieftain Alex 14:24, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

This feels like the most pointless discussion I've ever started, but hey, I might as well reply with something...
What made me think of noting it was the anomaly added to Teinai's Wind. The real question is, at what point is it necessary to note inconsistencies between skills? Star Burst's behaviour with energy gain is indeed consistent with every other Elementalist skill in the game that causes energy gain in that every skill provides exactly one energy packet when it takes effect. A few minutes of browsing turned up pages like Empathy or Offering of Blood (though I suspect that note is somebody getting confused over the 5e cost of OoS) that are directly comparing mechanics of skills from different professions.
On an unrelated note, my searches through skill pages turned up a number of other inconsistencies. I'm not even sure what constitutes an anomaly or bug any more... Loggy (talk) 15:19, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
yep I'm sorry that I even attempted to intervene, the wiki is covered in trivial discussions :D
Offering of Blood - that note is just obvious (1e cost recovered in time it took to cast) + hasn't been removed because nobody has bothered to. It should be removed though.
Generally an anomaly is something not worth ANet fixing.. such as a slightly incorrect textual description, or how the effect appears (e.g. energy packets), or doesn't function quite the same as other similar skills. Whereas a bug is something that prevents it functioning as described... e.g. Ebon Battle Standard of Courage providing half the intended amount due to the stacking limit. Not sure if that helps or not. -Chieftain Alex 16:19, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
I'm rather surprised that I can only find one discussion on the usage of the anomaly tag and TEF's 2 year old RFC about them that never got any replies. Given the age of the game and wiki doing trying to do anything about it now would surely be a waste of time, though. At the end of the day, they're all just notes to the reader, and ANet isn't exactly going around fixing anything any more. Loggy (talk) 16:43, 22 June 2014 (UTC)

Focus of Hanaku[edit]

Sounds like a boss-like foe to me. Will test it over the weeked. Cheers, Steve1 (talk) 06:42, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

I was just picking up another green and noticed that ESurge hit 180, which is just way too high. Didn't catch the energy loss though. Loggy (talk) 12:33, 7 July 2017 (UTC)

Thanks again![edit]

I was indeed going to do it manually, due to a lack of magic words on wiki software to do it with them. I would have gotten there in a few days, but you saved me so much time, so thank you! - Infinite - talk 20:14, 9 February 2018 (UTC)
