User talk:Racthoh/MonkConditionRemoval
You are mostly right, but not completely. In PvE, monks simply take Dismiss Condition, because it serves as a very effective heal (more than orison of healing) and very low recharge. The actual removing of a condition only serves as a bonus. Also, blind makes wand attacks miss as well (just in case you didn't know). That's the only reason that condition removal is worth taking, Dismiss Condition is simply one of the best heals out there (cycle with Heal Other while under HB and you have pretty insane healing).Crimmastermind 07:07, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

- Draw and mend touch are bad for PvE. -Auron 10:07, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- The point was you don't need RC for PvE except for special places like SoO. Not whether mend touch/draw were good in PvE or not.Pika Fan 12:08, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- If you need conditions removed, you run RC, because the rest of the options suck (and cost too much time/energy/attribute points/skill slots for the limited benefit, as Racthoh explained already). If you don't need conditions removed, why are you running condi removal skills in the first place? -Auron 13:02, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Swapping to a wand tells the AI not to blind you, just like when my Paragon swaps to his staff for energy Thorn Wolves will hex me with Shroud of Silence. When I've done Frostmaw's Burrow in the past my warrior spent most of the time in a wand/shield set to build adrenaline and pump out "Save Yourselves!" against the Stormcloud Incubus (quite painful in Hard Mode). Considering they have Whirlind, Shock, and Blinding Flash there was no way my warrior would've been useful in melee at all. Granted I should've brought "I Am Unstoppable!" as one of my PvE skills for the constant KDs within the dungeon, a simple weapon swap allowed some compensation for that mistake.
I can't see how Dismiss Condition is one of the best heals available. When I play a hybrid bar I'm running Word of Healing and Dwayna's Kiss as my main forms of pushing red bars. If someone needs a heal I'm reaching for one of those two, not Dismiss Condition for the 100ish heal it'll give. Both WoH and Kiss have a 3 second recharge, and will generally put anyone's health back to the level where the party heals keep them nearly topped off. I would much rather give myself another prot because odds are I'll be using it more often than I would Dismiss Condition.
I want Restore Conditions for instances with long lasting constantly applied buried blind, multiple degen conditions, and weakness. Shards of Orr is the perfect example of such a place. Unless those conditions will severely hamper your groups ability to perform another prot or hex removal will prove more valuable. This isn't PvP where you're fighting one long match for several minutes, it's not like the degen from conditions is going to add up in the duration of your typical PvE encounter.
