Unbecoming Qualities In-Game that grind my gears:

Cheating is defined as an act of deception, fraud, trickery, imposture, or imposition. Cheating characteristically is employed to create an unfair advantage, usually in one's own interest, and often at the expense of others. Cheating implies the breaking of rules.

Ex: Farming Ales in Pre-Searing via an exploit.

Conceit can mean an over-high esteem of oneself, something conceived (especially, a novel or fanciful idea), or, in literature and poetry, a device of analogy consisting of an extended metaphor.

Ex: Wearing a high-end title and feeling better than everyone around you (especially if unearned and undeserved).

to Exploit (third-person singular simple present exploits, present participle exploiting, simple past and past participle exploited) (transitive) To use for one's own advantage. Synonyms(use for one's own advantage): take advantage of, use

Ex: Feasting on glitches and exploits in-game will result in unworthiness and feelings of failure.

These are some of the characteristics encountered in players. It is advisable to stay away from cheating, being concieted and exploiting in-game glitches to prevent from damaging your own reputation in Guild Wars.

Talk page text removal[edit]

Greetings. Please note that the only way to removing text from a talk page is by archiving such content while leaving a visible link to the archive on the same talk page. I archived the text you removed at /Archive 1 as an example of how this is done. Feel free to move this message also if you want to test the process by yourself (which is mostly just cut-paste anyways).--Fighterdoken 23:13, 4 May 2008 (UTC)

See the message above: you are not allowed to delete your talk page, archive it... |Cyan LightUser Cyan Light SB.jpgBoooh!!!| 17:58, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Can you show me how to archive the current page? ^^ I'm not attuned to all the scriptings, symbols, commands, etc. Thanks. --Warren G 18:15, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

Help:Archiving can guide you with that. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 17:27, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Signature[edit]

Hi, could you change your signature so it resembles your username please? "Warren G" isn't very close to "Ulterion". Thanks --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 17:26, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Warren's my name and Ulterion's my account alias (ID). Why do I have to reflect Ulterion on my signature? Warren G. Worthington is a better reflection of me personally to begin with, so why do you direct me to change that? Please get back to me on it asap. Thanks--Warren G 17:34, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

You're known as Ulterion on this wiki, because that's your username; your signature should resemble that username so people know which user is commenting, and not necessarily your 'real-life' name. Guild Wars Wiki:Sign your comments has more information. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 18:34, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Very well. --Warren G 18:40, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Hey, can ya walk me through changing my signature? I'm still just a wiki noob. :/ Thanks. --Ulterion 18:48, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Put the formatting code, e.g. [[User:Ulterion|Ulterion]], into the nickname field and make sure the Raw Signatures box is ticked. The help pages might be of some use as well. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 18:57, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Tried the code (doesn't seem to be working). I looked through the cluster that is help pages and I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Can you possibly give me the direct link to the problem I'm having? Thanks. --Ulterion 19:25, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
What's the problem? Seems like you have the link to your userpage working. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 19:35, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
I was seeing Warren G on my side, still; I do see the change now, though. Thanks anyhow. --Ulterion 19:41, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
If you mean your previous signatures still show as Warren G, that's because only signatures made after the change are affected - the previous ones are already saved and don't get changed.--User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 19:49, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Yea, I realized that. K, cool. --Ulterion 20:01, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that, by the way :) --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 20:03, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
No problem, any time. ^^ --Ulterion 20:07, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

urbad, prage is still imba, and if you have escape urbad. Napalm Flame 19:44, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

I like how you come on my page to say things that hold no meaning or value to me. You just wasted your time, GG. Oh, and just so you know, the only time I ever use Escape is if it's on a scythe ranger, or a griever in RA. =P Other than that, I roll my own builds that PvX don't even know about and are very successful in PvP. Learn2NotSuk. --Ulterion 20:06, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
I remember your PvX builds man, they were like really good but the noobs there trashed them because they are stupid noobs. Misery 20:39, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
LOL. If they didn't actually use my builds in the manner I prescribed, then I feel sorry for them because they're missing out on a big thing. I don't post builds without having tested them myself! If I feel even the slightest doubt, I don't post a thing because I ain't trying to set players up for failure. I want everyone to have something new to use and succeed with it, nothing less. So, what I post is serious business and I ask that players follow through with testing followed by sound judgement. --Ulterion 23:19, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

How now brown cow? What's so bad about using the word epic? What if I meant that in a good way? You come on my talk page and talk.. so.. I talk back at your page. Why the sudden hate? You don't like a taste of your own cooking? --Ulterion 01:01, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Hi there[edit]

I've just recently been seeing you around saying to Smiter's Boon (25/90 as you put it) and I have to say it doesn't help, it just creates a whole new problem. Personally I would recommend posing any ideas, other than 25/90'ing everything please, here. Who knows maybe you will have a stroke of genius and the idea is accepted and implemented. I'm not trying to be rude just voicing options. Weaponmaster 08:57, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

MB Distortion E/Me's...[edit]

...are OP'd and ruin PvP. The reason for this is because 75% block 60-80% of the time while 1-2-3-4ing everything in sight is just too good. My niece can mash my buttons for me while I go to the restroom, take a nap, go to the store, etc, etc... Also, any words on the next skill update and the changes that're being routed up the food chain? Have ya'll considered inducing another meta shift by changing some more skill functionalities so that there's no stagnation for PvPers (especially those that go way back to the release date of GW1)?

If You do decide to bless your PvP Community with programmed goodness, I have here some suggestions that might help out some (for PvP only). Hope they can be of some use prior to the next patch.

  • Soldier's Stance - Move to Strength attribute, release requirements for attack speed and apply them to a +1 Strength clause instead. This would basically be Frenzy with no double-damage clause, making warriors more durable in exchange for losing some spike power.
  • Blessed Light - Reduce energy cost to 5. This spell would be a viable source of hex/condition relieve, compressing the skill bar for monks quite a bit. Only catch is that it wouldn't be as potent in healing than other competitors like WoH.
  • Signet of Devotion - Reduce Cast time to 1 second, increase recharge to 8 seconds and leave healing as is. This change makes it an inferior version of Sig-o-Rejuv. and can be used on Prot/Smite Bars.
  • Withdraw hexes - Reduce energy cost to 10, reduce cast time to (1/4-3/4), remove disable skill clause, change AoE to "nearby or area" and keep hexes removed capped to a maximum of 1 per ally. Move to unlinked attributes.
  • Power Flux - Add 0...40 damage (taking wild stab at damage part tbh) per spell casted by foe if hexed with mesmer hex. Wastrels would be the ideal hex that forces spells to be casted, creating slightly more pressure on casters and contributing to damage. Code this hex so that it's incapable of stacking with VoR to avoid making this buff OP'd. Description: "No [damage] effect if hexed with Visions of Regret."
  • Psychic Instability - Increase recharge to 12 seconds and add 0...70 damage that is viable but not OP'd. It'd be like an elite version of Cry in essence.
  • Shatterstorm - Reduce energy cost to 5, reduce disable cost to +3 per enchantment removed. It'd become one of the more viable enchant removals with no negative effect or damage.
  • Shadow Prison - Reduce energy cost to 5 and recharge to 20. Yes, we all know that you absolutely LOATHE assassins, but now that double dual-attacking and all formidable IAS's have been reduced to dust, it's pretty safe to say that this suggestion would be about equal to Wastrel's Collapse, except for that it'd be able to fuel Black Mantis Thrust and/or Black Spider Strike, making something other than the palm strike build more viable. It'd also be most gracious if you could reprogram elite shadow steps to be freed from aftercast delays since they have elite status (disables all non-assassin skills to prevent secondary abusages).

More to come... If anyone posting on here has any more ideas (please make them be as balanced and as possibly able), please post here so that Izzy can get empowered by some of our good ideas. So, how's that for stroke of genius Weapon Master? ^^ --Ulterion 03:18, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

Sorry about taking so long to respond, I had a brief Hiatus involving GW and had dropped off the radar for GWW. Honestly, I just checked my userpage today. Anyway some...most of these changes are rather well done. I would like to mention that the 5e cost on Blessed light is rather strong, personally I think it would be best if it had +10 healing, removed 0...1...2 hexes and conditions and you loose 1 energy per cond or hex removed...I just pulled that out of my, well some would say better, side. Have you considered any changes for distortion? Here's a shot in the dark, add ends after 1..2..3 spells are cast. Weaponmaster 02:37, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
They actually sound quite reasonable. However, I'd imagine that Anet's probably [realistically] too busy with their next big paycheck GW2 to concern themselves too much with GW1 as there's no monetary reinforcement in it. I'd be shocked if they actually seriously considered our suggestions to be quite honest. --Ulterion 23:38, 10 August 2009 (UTC)
