Quite a nice method, really, although after getting the pet, I preferred levelling by farming what I needed for armour upgrades (one run of gargoyles, aloe seeds near Barradin's, then more gargoyles, followed by spiders and finally ice elementals). A great side-effect of that was that the monsters you were farming levelled with you, providing a nicely increasing rate of experience gain. After that, I did a few runs of Charr at the Gate, first with Rurik then without, and by then I was about lv7, and did the rest about the same as your guide, except I soloed the Northlands pretty much from the start - my pre character's a mesmer, so doesn't require line of sight. Take that, Hunters!

Of course, that would take a bit longer than having a higher level tank for you, but I certainly found it more fun. Oh, and I didn't use an imp after I levelled to 9, and even before then only for Shaman groups. All in all, it took my mesmer about 15 hours to reach lv10 (and 10 hours of afk time =]). I can't comment on the quests yet, as I've only ever done today's quest. —Cake! Ebany 02:02, 5 March 2012 (UTC)

AFK time is probably about 25% or more of that with me. I am always getting phone calls or interrupted by company and then go back to my game. "You have been playing for 4 hours please take a break." ;D No I played about 30 mins. Out of the VQ's Utini Wupwup is the best since it is open country and 25 minions to kill. I really wish they would add more VQ's to the 9 available. I don't like it when 2 or more shamans team up on me. I am a bit of a spoil sport and rezone back to the estate when it looks bad. Also I don't want the imp killing off my XP or ending the mission by killing the boss. Baron has achieved the level 20 status and people ask me why I stay. He is my anchor in pre-searing. Once you get to that level you are in God mode or the closest thing to it. I get a gate monkey and go beat up the charr for kits, bags, and purples. Then I send dye and platinum with my "runners" to post. It is pretty easy to build your guild hall up when you have good cash flow.--Wendy Black 01:38, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Program Links on Page - In answer to a private message.[edit]

Recently in game, I was sent a PM from Simon of Aragon, "Wendy are those two programs on your DoA page legit to use with GW?".

In no way do either of these violate your EULA, since they are both stand alone calculators for doing complexed math formulas. You can run these programs without having GW installed. They just crunch numbers. The Attributes program should be used with some care, it uses a math recursion loop that you will begin to notice the higher your divisions. For example; see my tables generated below using this program. I entered 200 max to 195 min for each.

It took my speedy machine a few seconds to crunch Division 5, if you try 7 or 8 (why would you?) it will hang for hours. --Wendy Black
Ok... why not just use these tables instead then eh? --Simon of Aragon - talk 11:09, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
Because the program allows a variety of input, what if I only wanted to spend 165 to 170 for example? I guess you could make yourself a ton of tables in a spreadsheet, it is just a matter of copy and paste. --Wendy Black 16:30, 27 February 2013 (UTC)
