My first Block of my account ever. A first for me and many.

Yeah no one is perfect, but most people in PvP are looking for more than just a fight in game. It kinda makes me sick that they can't know the difference between simple jest and real insults associated with true anger. So I'm going to take my 71 hour account block in stride and try not to piss too many people off in the near future. I want to see GW 2 with all my titles.

Makes me wish I had more than one game account now. But that would be circumventing the rules quite a bit. Now I need to find a user box that shows I have received a suspension before. I have finally joined at least the rest of the GW crowd. I will wear this like a badge of honor.

I am usually a person of good standing in the GW community, (I usually walk on the right side of the rules reporting big violations and such) this came to a shock to me. Me? A rule breaker? Someone had to probably personally hate my guts enough to get me this nice little suspension.

Comments? Yumiko ^,~ 04:48, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I have had 2 72hour-bans as a result of kidding around in JQ. Don't worry about it xD ~ 99.0.63.13 05:26, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Yeah I have always just messed with peoples heads in JQ. I know better now.Yumiko ^,~ 05:30, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Challenge Missions and Elite Areas

For months now I've been trying to get Amatz Basin done for my final faction cap increase, but every time I try with people we fail, if I hero/henchmen it, I fail. Its like no one does these anymore or they suck at it. I look at the records and I see these guilds I never seen before getting very high scores, yet they are never around when I'm around. What gives? I really want to get that done soon. The same goes for The Deep if the above thing in this talk didn't occur I'd be planning one right now. Yumiko ^,~ 15:26, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

+/- and a number sometimes by our contributions what does this mean?

Is this a good or bad thing?Yumiko ^,~ 09:21, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

It means the number of characters added or taken away by your edit. If you add a comment 20 characters long you'd get a +20. If you remove some text you'd get a -. ShadowRunner 09:51, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
I see. If it was karma system on here, I'd be not so amused.Yumiko ^,~ 09:55, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

Link to GW2W box?

I try to add one but it references my old dead merged account (my gww user page is actually my old merged one.) I want it to reference User : Yumiko Ishida not User: Hirohito Ishida. Any suggestions?Yumiko ^,~ 17:37, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

"my gww user page is actually my old merged one" - this is why. Your userpage content should be at User:Yumiko Ishida instead of it using User:Hirohito Ishida as a template. Alternatively, use the code {{gw2w|User:Yumiko Ishida}}. -- pling User Pling sig.png 18:11, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

PVE skills are nearly all noob skills

I can't stand how today's players use all these EotN skills in PvE. I can't really talk since I use elemental lord when using my spells as Yumiko, but its actually a balanced skill as far as enchantments go. As for SoS, Vampirism is optional, summon spirits is a must, and even those aren't cheap skills and they don't give any real edge in PvE. A well placed AoE spike can defeat SoS builds everywhere. I rather use my older skills thank you as far as other builds go. I don't really care if my party members use these builds and discord as long as they don't force me to. I rather play the right way and that is balanced and using your head.

I think if you have a Mesmer or are one, use panic instead of PI. If you are SoS, bring dissonance.

Mantra of Resolve

Why did Anet nerf this skill in pvp? Ever since it was nerfed, Eles are now useless to play in pvp. Pious concentration isn't as good to use nor is the glyph of concentration that eles have.

I demand they bring it back to its PvE functionality. One class shouldn't be made utterly useless. Eles get interrupted all match now because they have no protection to shutdown.Yumiko ^,~ 07:23, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Top 20 worst PvE maps in GW 1 and why.

I'm thinking about doing a listing of them and reasons as to why they are labeled as such. I will be getting down to this soon.Yumiko ^,~ 21:50, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Troll banning network starting now.

I need the help of all people of GW. Let us end the tyranny of Trolls and grievers in Shing Jea. They make our beloved game inhospitable for all new players coming into the end of GW's life cycle and if not stopped will also spill into GW 2 causing an epidemic and never ending cycle of cyber bullying of all newcomers in both gw and gw 2. many trolls I have had a hand in banning in the past have come back and will still play in GW 2. This will be bad for all of us as a community as we cannot have this filth no longer!

You all remember what the yellow text said when you log in, do your part and report those that break the EULA.

I will lead this network if you wish to join me in the fight. PM me in game. If you side with them, I already know who you are and am always watching from the shadows.

I want certain user boxes:

I am looking for a Legendary skill hunter box and legendary vanquisher box. I also want a user box that denotes I hate Discord/Sabway. where can I find these? I also will try to make or have made for me an oldschool GW player box that says I play with 100% balanced teams.Yumiko ^,~ 05:37, 1 May 2011 (UTC) Yumiko Ishida

Guild Wars Official Prima Guide

I have this in .pdf format if it will help anyone's research in this wiki. If you wish to contact me about it you can in game. A lot of its appendices are still accurate to this day.Yumiko ^,~ 05:40, 15 May 2011 (UTC)

I would be interested in comparing some of the info or data in the guide to what we present. However, I would never place a bet on the info/data in Prima Guides even on relatively static games (e.g. Morrowwind, the details of which don't change much after a game's release). Their writers/fact checkers are very thorough, but their source predates the game's release by months (or longer). They usually don't update the books much after the first printing. They do nearly all of their play testing in early Beta version, so that also hurts their ultimate accuracy.
Does it mean they never have anything useful to say? Not at all. They still have some very clever people putting the guides together. More often than not, the maps are accurate in topography, the general guidelines/rules-of-thumb are relevant and helpful, and they often present data well. But for things like rates, detailed mechanics, and anything useful for min-max strategies...I treat them with equal reliability with rumors; in both cases, I won't trust it until I see the results of systematic testing.
I do like perusing them from time to time, because they point out an idea or table that makes me think of something else. On occasion, they have a clever way of presenting data. And every so often, that leads to a more enjoyable gaming experience. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 00:28, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
I've been looking through it, and there's quite a bit of weird/intersting stuff! I do think they must have gotten a lot of information straight from A.net, as outdated and flawed it may be. These guides are generally written by one person in about 2 weeks, even a small team couldn't have gotten so much data. Every creature's (including bosses!) skills, armor, weapon damage, and all sorts of other stuff. Most of the henchmen are listed as having special armor bonuses, like Little Thom having 100 extra armor against fire at level 20! Even if it's not true (gotta check it out) it's fascinating that it was planned. I think I'll make a page documenting all the stuff I find interesting. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 02:12, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
That would be very cool. I will attempt to test out much of what you post. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 02:38, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

I'm really curious on that basic drop vs enemy level table if it still holds true (at least for gold (currency) it does). I tested it for gold coins and it it pretty consistent for the common and uncommon level of gold coins which means gold coins follows enemy level/ HM level and has some variance. I never seen a lv 20 foe or higher drop 200-500 gold though except for hard mode bosses.Yumiko ^,~ 05:44, 16 May 2011 (UTC)

I don't trust that table..level 20s can certainly drop max items. It kinda feels like the author just assumed there was a linear progression from level 1 to 24 (there were even level 28s in the release). I thought gold was well understood to be a particular range of values * enemy level, with bosses potentially dropping gold up to 4 times, but I can't find it. Here's the page I made with what I found changed, odd, or funny. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 20:28, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
I was taking the guide's table as suggesting the average. I haven't paid it much attention in the past, but it's clear that lower level foes drop less loot. Whether the amounts are near what's in the table... dunno. Stuff like that would be worth publishing here (in fair use doses) because I think there's enough interest in some of this stuff that ppls would be able to verify/not and it could gives us some more insight into the game mechanics. (However, I suspect anything related to drop rates because quite a lot of the mechanics have changed over the years. The drop tables internal to the game might be 99% the same, but that doesn't mean we will see similar results if the calculations/random factors have evolved noticeably.)Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:40, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
Yes considering the fact ArenaNet changed the farming code a bit. It would be great if any of it is still intact/near useful after 6 years besides the first game's missions and 90% of the 54+ maps' topographies. I know I used it well into my return to GW in 2009 to remember how to do my missions in prophesies before I knew wiki existed a month later. I know memorized every mission in prophesies and factionsYumiko ^,~ 01:05, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

Personal Research on Remains, Remnants, Residues, Rider Eyes.

I will make a page or have one made for me on this and fill it in with my findings on their expert salvage. So far, I had one azure remain on the way to nick today and it gave me 2 dust.Yumiko ^,~ 18:33, 17 May 2011 (UTC)

A LP of GW what you you all think?

I should do a Youtube Let's Play of one of the three campaigns. I am thinking of factions or prophesies since I'm so good at playing old school (no campaign travel or hero use).Yumiko ^,~ 02:26, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

WoC favors PvX/build wars users. Not a chance for us honorable balanced/old shcool players?

I can't believe you have to use an exploit to even get past Tsurai's quest. I gave up when I got to this point. I think this is also why I'm never going to get tormented weapons.Yumiko ^,~ 03:28, 13 November 2011 (UTC)

Damn Dishonor

I was in FA when I was going to cap purple amber mine when I started hanging up. I disconnect and I try to reconnect and I continued to hang. I find that my router crapped out despite it still transmitting. So I reset my wifi on my laptop. I end up back in the Kurz FA lobby with dishonor and no way of knowing if I got the faction or a win or a loss. What's worse whenever I change maps it resets on me. This shit is fucking broken. Pardon my language but I'm pissed. I never broke any rules or leeched in FA or JQ or any pvp in my 6 years of GW. I want Anet to give me something for this slander. It eventually wear off, but I can't go anywhere at all until it does.Yumiko ^,~ 22:24, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

The time doesn't reset, just the little bar. If you spent half of your dishonor time in one outpost and then changed outposts, the bar would be full again, but would move twice as fast. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 23:51, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

Possible duplication glitch or just bug with drop message in chat? also other bugs I'd like to discuss

moved from yeti plating by user

I was in MQSC the other day and I killed a yeti that dropped a gold yeti plating. I tried to pick it up and I got knocked down by another yeti. When I did complete my pick up motion I got two instead of one in that exact spot and exact drop that was picked up. is this a bug/exploit I discovered?

Take a look at the chat log here: http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t54/elementalhero76/gw146.jpg Yumiko ^,~ 18:40, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
