ArenaNet talk:Guild Wars 2 suggestions/Beast Master Remade

limiting their damage to agreeable levels is nice but changing how they level is completely unnecessary. This is because if you want to level one pet more than others, then you would just bring the one pet...and that would not be as fun for most players. Also, choosing which path to follow at the beginning is totally unlike what GW is to most people, a game where you can be one thing one day and then completely change to something else whenever you feel like it. Instead, it should be done through the attributes and separate charm skills (Charm Canine, Charm Avian, and Charm Feline). This leads to the fact that their are probably lots of people who would want bears or spiders or, if they are hoping for new pets, battle horses, giant turtles, lizards of some kind, or even swarms of insects, meaning that you couldn't just have those specific types as attributes. Finally, each kind of animal should be unique, have different attacks, move and differently, have different AI, even possibly have some skills (only better than the one that bears have), and would have different values and you could have a max value total based on the primary attribute (which should be beast lore and the primary attribute should not control weapon mastery for...obvious reasons. i also think that the claws and fangs idea should not be used but instead have weapons that are attuned to the attributes that would emulate the attacks of a beast of some kind). As much as i would like to play as this, there is also going to be a lag issue if too many people play as these "pack masters". asides from that, this would give a new dynamic to beast mastery. The Emissary 03:46, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Dang. That is one long paragraph Kenny. No offense, but I did not even attempt to read it. Do people like simplicity anymore? --PCGamer07 19:55, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

I like this idea. It does need some tweeking though. Maybe there would be different levels of pets in a heirarchy with three levels of pets. The beast master could have up to 5 "points" to they can fill. The lowest level pet is 1 point, meaning you can have up to 5. The 2nd level is 3 points, and the highest is 5 points. The higher the level, the better the pet. It is a little difficult to do if beginners were playing but its just an idea.

Instead of changing the profesion entirely, why not just make a whole new profesion?User:MoasRule

I think the idea is nice, but a whole new profession made just 4 pets, or all the ranger skills lost 4 just a pet would just b unwanted. Besides, pet master rangers with 12 Expertise n 12 Beast Mastery r kinda cool (I have 1 myself)--Exikor 15:34, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
