[edit] GotW
Doesn't Guild of the Week needs to be on here as well? I saw quite a lot of guilds on wiki here who already were guild of the week, but I cannot seem to find a page for that. Just an idea.. --

[edit] Guilds by language spoken
Ok, i want this discussed first, because if i go again by the "be blunt" part of the recomendations, someone will come and tag it for deletion by being blunt also.
I would guess that guilds and players find easier to decide who to recruit and what guild/alliance to join based on languages spoken instead of nationality (since "international" doesn't cover really all the posibilities). Given that we are currently experiencing an increase of asian guilds creating pages, and that having guilds link to language pages is not that rare of a thing, i believe we should consider creating a new category (allowing multiple entries for it), that allowed guilds to classify themselves by language spoken. It wouldn't hurt more than having a "list of warrior skills that can be used while dancing in a party at level 3 drunk in the middle of wintersday", and i actually find it could even help a little to sort things out.--Fighterdoken 20:35, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
- Maybe Category:Guilds by nationality can be of some use? — ク Eloc 貢 03:33, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

- The problem with nationality is that they are intended to cover a regional allegiance only, and only one. A guild cannot pick "england" and "france" because that would qualify them as "international" instead, and thus being misleading to chinese-speaking players (exagerated example, i know). The guild infobox already has an entry for the language(s) a guild communicate into, so i think this could be improved by extending the categorization by allowing them to clasify also by the language they speak. Another example of this is "Nationality: English", which only includes "country:England (or GB)" instead of all enlgish-speaking countries (and of course would exclude english-speaking users from other countries). Other case is "nationality: latin-america" which excludes "country:spain", and so and so on.--Fighterdoken 04:04, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

- Aye, replace nationality with this if anything. Backsword 08:12, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- By picking a guild based on nationality, it gives you a general idea what language they speak. — ク Eloc 貢 17:12, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
- So what language do they speak in canadian guilds? Or brazilian guilds? Or one of the other multi-lingual countries? — Galil

- Multi-lingual category!, Thats assuming they dont have one that they choose as a main language.... Look at GWWT:GUILDS for my opinion on this (in the 'nationality catergories' bit --

- But again, "multi-lingual" falls on the same problem than "international". A guild that allows english and german speaking users would fall on this category because they allow more than one language, but "french/english" guilds, "english/german" guilds, or "spanish/portuguese" guilds should not be grouped all into a same category, because they just don't cover the same group of people. If doing so, it would be better to just not categorize, or just let them all link to Category:Guild instead, since all of them are guilds. That, or start creating multiple categories for each possible combination (would that make sense if we can already just include more than one category?).--Fighterdoken 18:13, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Guild by territory
I'm considering creating a Guild by territory category. --Pious 21:40, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
- Created "Guild by territory" and "Guilds in the European territory" category. This allows European guilds to be European and have a principal country as well. --Pious 09:58, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Searching by Guild Tags
I know while I'm playing, I might see a few players all of the same guild gathered together. I'll ask them what their name is, and just get a cold shoulder, or a verbal assault. I already belong to a guild and am very happy with them, but I'm still curious what other guilds I see are up to, and without a name, I can't find them here. So I propose a possible search engine that will parse through guild tags. From there, the user would view the guilds and possibly match capes to view the information of the guild they are searching for. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:65.90.42.40 (talk).
