Character slot
From Guild Wars Wiki
A character slot refers to the allotment of potential characters an account can create. Every character created on an account occupies one character slot. A character slot may be used to create either a PvP character or a PvE character.
[edit] Acquisition
- Per default, any account comes with 4 character slots.
- If a player adds an access key for a different campaign to his account, he will gain 2 additional character slots, with all slots having access to all campaigns purchased by the account. Players may choose to make a new account to gain two additional character slots. However the new account does not gain access to any content other than the purchased chapter. Separate accounts cannot be merged afterwards.
- Additional character slots can be purchased in the Guild Wars In-Game Store. According to ANet, the maximum amount of additional character slots that can be bought (on top of the number that came "out of the box" with campaigns) is 26. They cost 9.99 USD / €8.99 / 5.99 GBP each
- The Guild Wars Nightfall Prerelease Bonus Pack came with one additional character slot.
