Feedback:User/Miteshu/Level up weapons

What I do not like about MMORPGs is that weapons has no meaning in the game other than stat-boost. When I reach level 80, I prefer to have that beautiful starter sword than another ugly sword. But the problem is... it has better stats than my starter sword. So instead of just buying a weapon with the same skin but has better stats, why not level up the weapons?

How this will work[edit]

After you kill a set amount of enemies. Your weapon can go to any blacksmith to raise its level. After that, you can choose to increase the attribute, increase magic defense, increase damage. To make things more interesting, if your weapon killed "this" particular group more than anything else, you can choose the option to deal "This much" percent critical damage to this particular group of enemies or if you spammed Flurry all the time using that sword, you can choose to take the cooldown can decrease or the damage increase.

You choose.

I suggest that the max level for leveling up weapons should be 10 or less. After you reach max level, The sword will be named after you.

Green weapons will not be able to be leveled up. Since they are already have stats made for you.

Why?[edit]

If I am a street rat, why would I get my hands on a pretty sword? For RPing/Personal story purposes, I want to choose the plainest blade there is and still have the same stats of the rarest blade there is. Which means weapons are only good for their skin.

The runes system was pretty much annoying in GW1.

Weapons have much more meaning.

Blacksmith won't be useless anymore.
