Dungeon running is a form of leeching. Ban them all! Moo Kitty 19:47, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

...--Gah_ 01:13, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

You forget nor do you Realize, Dummy. That Real Life Can Interfer During anything, be it Mission, pvp, etc. People do have families that play and enjoy to play. I think you're harsh and you have no idea what those go through. Now for those that are 'bots' and can be seen as that by repeat entries, etc. those I can see banning, but not for those who have to leave during a game, because of something important. Shame on you. Please refrain from personal insults. Also, this suggestion is regarding the possibility of reporting leechers in pve, and the penalties described revolve around reports. If you are with a guild team, or friends, or otherwise get the party to agree to your absence then chances are you aren't going to get reported, so this would not affect you. I personally think it's a grand idea. -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 07:02, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

I like the idea, however the punishments are abit harsh, it should be something more similar to dishonorable as no ban should be given by any automated machine C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 13:10, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

There could be a report abuse if it's a PUG, and putting the dishonorable statue after X minutes of afking could be too arsh as said above. Maybe a mix of these two (report+afking) ? M3G Everlasting Frosty Tonic.png 13:46, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
Let me rephrase that, i meant that dishonorable would be fair, however the 12 hour to 1 month ban suggested on the page is abit harsh C4K3 User C4K3 Signature.jpg Talk 13:49, 9 September 2009 (UTC)
There needs to be some ban, at least 12 hours - 10 minutes of not being able to enter a battle is lol. If a player leeches enough to get a one-month ban, then they obviously A. are intentionally leeching, and should be banned, or B. have incredibly, incredibly poor time management skills, and need to take some time off to find a way to fix this (seriously, it would take reports from like 30 people within a week to get a month ban - you either need to fix your connection or plan your game time better). --Gah_ 00:30, 13 September 2009 (UTC)
Great idea. As far as the above comment of real life getting in the way.. if it's once in a blue moon then no worries - the punishments in this suggestion would clearly only impact repeat offenders in a serious way. If it's a regular occurrence that you're interrupted and have to afk in the middle of something, then you shouldn't be playing GW at that time. Otherwise you're being pretty inconsiderate to either the PUG/Team or to those in real life who need your attention.
Idk about this one.. As someone said above sometimes Rea Life changes and you have to afk or possible leave the group to do something. I was in a CoF run recently and had to take my dog outside. (He's got a broken leg after being kicked by a mule). If this was enforced I would have faced at least 3 reports from impatient noobs that didn't want to be scammed out of their money. The idea is good.. but it can be abused.. So currently, I'd have to vote against this. Magic User Magic Icon.jpg Talk 23:04, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

I like to respond on this right here -> "Personally, I think this is rather lenient for people that make their in-game living by making life difficult for other people for hours or days at a time."

LOL I have NO IDEA Who would be sooo stupid to waste a good bit of money on a game, just to make life difficult for other people for hours and days. It's obvious that real life isn't considered. Each person's life is different and this to me is ridiculous. I do think that there should be limits on those who run programs, etc. to leave their character to leach in some games without a word, but for others who like say suddenly needs to use the bathroom, needs to eat (ya do got diabetics who play) before their sugar get's low and realizes it, needs meds and realizes it (taking at certain times, etc. as forgetfulness can occur), needs to feed a child, etc. real life takes effect, but they may be gone anywhere from a minute or two to more. time can't be 'judged' by some, when it may take longer. I think ANet should watch this stuff and then judge on what they need to do with leechers. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 01:16, 18 September 2009 (UTC)

Perhaps as an alternative suggestion, an option to just kick the member from the group during explorable areas and missions. They wind up sent back to an outpost, no worries of them leeching any rewards. Downside to this being that pick up groups would be even more hated as the option could be used for griefing or that someone could accidentally drop you. Seryu 13:44, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

While I do agree that we should be able to report for leeching in PvE, too, the rest of it is... Yeah, no thanks. As others have said, sometimes life takes over - phone, door, pets, lag, etc. Maybe make it as lenient as the PvP dishonorable system...
