[edit] Tagging
I've been doing some tagging, but had a question. Images such as these, are they to be considered screenshots or ArenaNet images? I believe I heard heavily edited screenshots like these were to be tagged ArenaNet and not screenshot, but I could be wrong. Please enlighten my ways, o Goddess of Editing! — Why 13:04, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Wiki noob idea
>I have also been working on an email to send to each of them explaining what has been done, and that they will no longer receive "You have new messages" alerts when they log in... -- Wyn talk 04:51, 30 June 2009 (UTC) I had a thought about this, but I don't know if it would work. Would it be possible to transclude the feedback dev talkpage onto the user dev talkpage and have the user dev talkpage redirect to the feedback one? That way, someone would still be redirected to the feedback dev talkpage but every change made there would also appear on the actual user dev talkpage. If that's possible, couldn't that be a possible solution to the lack of "You have new messages" alerts? (Satanael 18:07, 1 July 2009 (UTC))
- I don't believe updates to a transcluded page generate modification alerts for the page into which the transclusion is done (since the code of the latter page never changes).
(Aiiane - talk - contribs) 18:20, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Are you sure? Because they show up on your watchlist (or, at least they do on Wikipedia, which I assume is the same here). I admit I have never had my user page transcluded, so I still have no idea if that could work. (Satanael 18:22, 1 July 2009 (UTC))
- (Edit conflict) x2 No. That is just going to make things more convoluted than it needs to be. This will in reality be a relatively seamless transistion, with the exception of the New message alert (which is being looked into also). If we can't work out how to change it, the staff will simply have to start using their watchlists more. I have this all worked out in my head, I just don't seem to be able to convey it on the wiki, so the discussion continues. -- Wyn
talk 18:23, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm, ok, I trust your head, though I'm not too sure how that would make things "too convoluted" since the userpage would still remain "invisible" because of the redirect. Not a big deal, just thought I would throw it out there in case it was helpful. (Satanael 18:27, 1 July 2009 (UTC))
- It may just be my head that's making it too convoluted :P We can test the new message trigger on my wiki. -- Wyn

[edit] You characters Elite skills
I stole your elite skills template from Alexa N Dryte so I could put it on Drogo and I noticed that you have Charge! in the template as "Charge!" and it doesnt check off the skill. I fixed it on your Alexa and your warrior. Just letting you know since you may be using these to keep up with the elites on all of your characters. Drogo Boffin 23:59, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- That was because someone changed her template before without telling anyone. "Charge!" used to check it off fine until the template was mucked with.
(Aiiane - talk - contribs) 00:01, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- I addressed the issue when the skill name was changed, but Chaiyo chose to ignore me and changed my template. I have undone both his change to my template, and your change to Alexa's page. -- Wyn

[edit] Quick question
Hey Wyn. If you have a chance could you look at my Character Page. For some reason the goals section isn't sitting up right with the titles section, and I can't seem to figure out why. It's probably something obvious, but since this page was created from something you originally designed, I'm sure you could figure it out. Thanks. — Rein 01:25, 2 July 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Just in case
...This got buried and you missed my reply:
>I understand the issues, however, we have little choice atm. I asked for names for the task force, and it was me and poke, and I had to nominate poke. No one else volunteered or offered any other opinons, so rather than delaying the implementation of the namespace, Emily set it up for sysop only editing. That can be changed (from what I understand), but not today, and not without having more names. Now... I'm here, I'm willing, and able to do things in the namespace, so tell me what you wish me to do. -- Wyn talk 02:04, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, maybe I missed something, but when did you ask for names for the task force? I also recall you nominating both me and Erasculio when you nominated poke, and both of us accepting. Maybe I don't understand how that part was supposed to be set up, but I thought Emily said something about the non-sysop task force members being temporarily promoted to sysop so they could edit the feedback namespace, is that how it will work? If so, who does the promoting? (Satanael 07:54, 2 July 2009 (UTC))
-Satanael 08:03, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- I know Satanael, the whole discussion got rather buried among other stuff. I will talk to Emily tomorrow about setting up a special usergroup for this and include you and Erasculio. Things just haven't gone the way anyone (especially me) was hoping. I'm sorry if I seem crabby about it, it's been a source of annoyance for me for the past couple of weeks, and it's NOT you, or Erasculio. I'm just trying to do my best to keep this moving forward in any fashion, and it's hard, it seems like there was absolutely no comment on anything for days and days after the namespace got implemented, and it's felt rather like I'm the only one that cares about it (though I know that's not true). It seems the greater wiki drama of Shard's arb com, Auron's rfr, and the election took everyone's focus off of this thing that we've been working towards for months and months. -- Wyn
talk 08:08, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- It's okay, I hope it didn't seem like I was harping on you for this, I'm just excited and wanted to get rolling (for some reason I just got an image in my head of my dog whining at the door to go out...). I mostly just want to understand what is happening and what will be happening, which for some reason I never feel like I do on wikis. Anyway, it's 4AM, maybe we should both just call it a day and pick up again tomorrow. Thanks for sticking with it. (Satanael 08:18, 2 July 2009 (UTC))
[edit] Who's property is this?
Should [2] this be tagged as?: {{arenanet image}}
- Yes. The image of that monk and those weapons are all intellectual property of ANet, even if someone else drew it. That person could not, for example, sell that image as their own work without permission from ANet. -Auron 09:09, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- I think it would be more accurate to say that the image is partially owned by ArenaNet. The status of derivative works within American copyright law is pretty complicated. There was a very brief discussion a couple years ago about creating a separate tag for derivative works such as fan art which which didn't really go anywhere, it's archived at Guild Wars Wiki talk:Image use/Archive#More tag uncertainty. You could bring up the question at Guild Wars Wiki talk:Copyrighted content or Guild Wars Wiki talk:Image use. --

[edit] Discussions
We are not discussing inside the feedback namespace? Why? I figured it would be more efficient to discuss issues for each page on the actual page's talkpage? (Satanael 19:14, 2 July 2009 (UTC))
- Because only sysops can discuss there. This is a community project. -- Wyn
talk 19:16, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hmmm, stupid democratic values getting in the way of efficiency >:P On the other hand, most people won't really understand our discussion in the GWW space unless they can see it, so we should remember to link to the page when we discuss. (Satanael 19:20, 2 July 2009 (UTC))

- Yes. If he uploads a new one that is not a copyvio, we will simply delete the version that is. -- Wyn
talk 19:34, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Is it possible to delete the older version without a deletion of the whole file? Just asking. It would be a good feature to have atleast :D - J.P.
Talk 19:45, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
- Yes we can delete individual versions of an image. -- Wyn
talk 19:47, 3 July 2009 (UTC)

- Because the tag needs to be corrected. -- Wyn

[edit] Coding question
This is probably one of the simplest questions you will ever have to answer. I know that you are able to get the "show" text on the side of your page and for some of your templates it also shows your "show" text and when you hit the button it collapses into the shown text. I really wanna do that for my character page, is there anyway you can tell me what the code is for that specific function?
I would really appreciate it! I've been up almost 3 hours now trying to figure it out.
Regards,
--Dark Savior 11:07, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
