Fanaticism[edit]

1 problem with this idea: Gaile is no longer the community relations person. Koda User Koda Kumi Horns1.GIF 22:00, 15 April 2012 (UTC)

one human Woman[edit]

Don't get me wrong, I agree that changes need to be made. The limited human female options really upset me. However, I think you need to take the time to word this clearly. I hate to be a grammar nazi, but at times it was hard to understand what on earth you were talking about, because of mispellings and just rambling on when your points could have been made with a lot less words. In addition, instead of using things like this: ( ) to represent a stomach, you should do something like find pictures on the internet of different women's and men's body types, and create a link so arenanet can really see what you're saying. But moving on to the issue of character creation, I was so dissapointed in it. The human females are all abnormally thin, their legs are abnormally long, and their breasts go from average to huge with no small options. A natural, healthy woman usually has an outward curve to her belly--flat bellies aren't typical. So options with a curved belly, and more normal body types, should be given. The men weren't so bad, but even their body types were limited. Seems like you could pick "slender", "perfectly toned", or "steroids" and nothing else. Again, I wish we had options for a typical, healthy male. Weindrasi 18:17, 18 March 2012 (UTC)Weindrasi

You are right, my english is horrible (im a german and my school note in english was typical a 5 or E...), im already giving my best, but i have other interests than studying desperatly grammer rules and the dictionary for each sentence i write^^. Im not so good in working with programms, so ( ) was a real bad but makeable alternate for me instead of linking pictures. My Opinion may isnt clear to 100% for the reader, but if you get, that the woman look hilarious, i reached my goal^^. --Naruuu 19:52, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Rebirth of the Ritualist[edit]

I would love the Ritualist to come back with a Canthan expansion. Factions & the Ritualist won my heart, and solidified GW as one of my favorite games. --Alena Kairos 03:15, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

I loved Prophecies to play slowly and step for step with my first charakter and many death penality, but that was before factions (rushing to lions arch for 60 armor), nightfall (Heros) and eotn (PvE-Skills)... I hate the Tutorial of Factions, but indeed its my actual number one (I hate nightfall forever! Boooring). --Naruuu 19:39, 22 March 2012 (UTC)

Attunement traits are horrible[edit]

I agree on that, they are making the same mistake all over again. The GW1 ele is unable to properly use multiple elements due to the diversion of the attribute points it requires and the reduction of effectiveness as result. Since the GW2 ele can only have acces to one element at a time you cannot combine the skills of multiple elements by yourself unlike the GW1 ele wich offers some skills for it (Master of Magic, Elemental Attunement).

Attunement swap is as nice as the weapon swap but the traits for that effect are poorly designed indeed. The other professions don't have traits for specific weapons either due to that reason so it is indeed very weird why the elementalist has trait based on wich weapon or in the case attunement it has equiped.

Altough GW2 already has a set release date i do hope they change the traits of the elementalists to a form that does not promote limited use of the elements due to a limited investment. Just a change to the effect of the traits would also be nice, an effect that is not based on the improvement of the element they are named after. Da Mystic Reaper 18:44, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Ohh, im so thankful, you are the first sharing my opinion, i would love to get your opinion about my latest suggestion (my 5th complete overworked version of this suggestion), but i would need a horrible amount of time to change it from german to english... --Naruuu 17:09, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
Don't get your hopes up on that just yet. I don't plan on rating GW2 suggestions when it's still just beta. Untill i get some real decent playing and have a good understanding of everything about such things i can judge suggestions properly.
In the case of this suggestion the flaw made of the eles traits is obvious and easy to judge because it's a mistake made over again. Da Mystic Reaper 19:29, 13 July 2012 (UTC)
So or so im happy, it is typical, that long threads in the betaforum get low feedback, but i got only one and that was like "where is the problem", i mean, of course, the ele is pretty well to play, but am i the only one that has a problem with it?
The main problem is, if you play with firemagic and watermagic, it is like playing in gw with 16 fire and water, but also with 12 air and earth. Furthermore, there is at least the groundattuning-effect, so it is never completly useless to attune, cause you can change again after 1s. My Mainproblem here is, that, especially with arcana, you use each attunement for only getting attuningbonus, what sucks in my eyes, but still it works, --Naruuu 20:33, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Changeable weaponskills[edit]

I've seen a lot of comments on the lack of amount on skills for GuildWars2, and I agree mostly with how the GuildWars2 team have said, that having a pool of useful skills is better than having a load of useless ones. However, I feel that the fixed Weapon Skills might mean that not everyone gets to play their weapon in the style which they would like. People might have different views of playstyles when they pick a single weapon, I might pick up a Greatsword because I feel that it should be a heavy hitting weapon that knocks the opponent hard and leaving them stunned, but another person may be wielding it looking to use it to block/parry attacks.

Just like how different classes have different skills when using a same weapon, a single class may also have a few ways they can use a single weapon. If we can have more skills unlocked after the initial 5 ( Every skill from 2 to 5 can have an alternative to let players choose from ), say after hitting a certain amount of "mastery", they will be more combinations available, and more customization to playstyles.

Hammer Example:

Slot 2: an attack that drops opponents' physical effectiveness through weakness. <> alternative skill option that inflicts daze to drop opponents' spells/skills effectiveness through daze

Slot 3: a crowd control inflicting cripple <> alternative option to give nearby allies swiftness

Slot 4: a pushback effect <> alternative to hit the opponents and jump back

Slot 5: a Knockdown effect <> alternative to Stun

Some of the examples above might not be really good, but the main idea is to let the player be able to choose how to achieve their target with a different approach.

Greatsword Example:

Slot 2: Multiple hits, extra damage <> Single hit for massive damage

Slot 3: Movement tool with line aoe damage <> Leap to foe, damage and pushback target and nearby foes

Slot 4: Line Cripple, slows enemies for chase/escape <> Shout that grants swiftness to nearby allies and self

Slot 5: Gap closer, brings fight to opponent <> Parry the next attack with Greatsword and strikes the enemy

This examples show how it can be made to enable players to slightly change their style with a single weapon, and also some which like the hammer example giving similar effects/outcomes through different approaches.

By adding just one option for every skill from 2 to 5 will enable so many more different combinations for players.

I understand that the game is near launch, but I think this will enable people to customize their playstyle greatly and not be stuck onto the playstyle that is being fixed by the developers, while the gamedevs can still balance base on what each skills slot does (so people can't match to have too many crowdcontrol, etc), I think it would be great option for players. Perhaps even a feature for post-launch? :) Aeongg 18:08, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

Im confused, what exactly you want to say^^. I think, i shouldnt ignore you easely after giving me feedback, but you are suggesting more or less the same like me ;) Greetings, --Naruuu 22:34, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
