Elementalists can't use Arcing Shot and warriors can't use attunements. — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 4:23, 31 Jul 2010 (UTC)

Just so you know, there aren't going to be secondary professions. 76.208.15.173 00:38, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

I believe the poster was mentioning a way to use the trait system or whatnot to change the element attributed to the attack Arching shot, and any other elemental-type skill not used by elementalists. They were not implying having the elementalist as a secondary to use their attribute swap ability, nor for that ability to be readily available to all classes. Try reading with a little depth on suggestions like these, not just seeing the words and stringing their individual meanings together. -- Through the trait system, such a thing would be completely possible, and Id think in part it could be useful, other times it might be problematic. Fire is the easiest element to use do to its abundance and traits. It can be applied and used to inflict fire damage, where as you cant exactly dip your arrows in water and expect it to deal "water damage." If immunities are in order, then generally the idea would be to not spec up on skills that employ only one element. Changing weapons would probably be the best key to beat this obstacle, as not everyone is meant to have the elemental variability that elementalists have (thus their names). And everything is probably vulnerable to physical damage in some way or another, pure invulnerability normally is only attributed to magical damage, where as getting slashed through your gut generally cant be immunized against. Even if its an elemental being such as a djinn, your physical attacks are disrupting their physical, or corporal form, thus physically harming them. That's the best advice Im able to dish out towards immunities.--Neithan DiniemUser Talk:Neithan Diniem 17:57, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
The poster never mentioned traits, but specifically a W/E using attunement skills to change their weapon damage (with Arcing Shot as an example). I would also say that some classes may have skills/traits that change or remove elemental affinity, but it's better if the majority cannot, so they actually have to think about what skills and weapons they bring based on the environment. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 18:18, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

In this case the skill will always deal fire dmg, even if you used the elementalist attunment or an elemental bowstring mod.
I think what you're saying is that it would be cool to change the element of the skill, which would be awesome; however, there would always be the people who think that it would be overpowered unfair and whatnot, but if every element damage skill had an element toggle, it would add a lot to the game tactics-wise, especially in PvP.
And, imo, it would not be "unfair" if you deck out in ice armor and I decice to toggle to fire and own you; it'd be your fault for not using a skill to counter your elemental resistance flaws.
I say this is a great suggestion, but there would be a lot of scripting needed to make it happen (would at least triple the data for skills).
(Sorry, but I don't know how to comment otherwise.) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Brother Albus (talk).

Well they don't need to attune they actual attack most likely. Rangers still have spirits in this game and probably just like GW1 there will be a spirit to change your elemental damage from attacks, ie Winter http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Winter Leader Freak 22:53, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
