The Scouts have members from all over the world with players in America, Europe and Australia. Members team up frequently to help each other progress through the campaigns, capture skills, and clear the elite areas, among other things. When not arranging trips the guild chat is frequently full of friendly discussion.

The guild was founded on March 18th, 2005 after a group of players responded to a forum post by Kaia Silverleaf wishing to “turn over every stone” of Tyria in good company. The guild is thus PvE-based with a focus on camaraderie and maximum enjoyment of the lands of Guild Wars; although that's not to say they don't enjoy a PvP battle or three!

To their delight, the Scouts became a notable guild on March 20, 2007, when ArenaNet made them Guild of the Week.

[edit] Recruitment

The leader and each officer may recruit anyone they think will both enjoy being a Scout and will be good company for the existing members. In general players can bring attention to themselves by posting on the guild forum, although an invite can be sent after an amicable encounter in-game.

The Scouts have an open recruitment process and anyone may apply. Because members are allowed to have long periods of inactivity the roster is always almost full, so if requesting membership expect some screening in order to check you are well-suited to this guild. New members are placed on a two-week trial at the end of which they either become full guild members, or cease to be members.

Members that are inactive for a long period of time are given an invite to a holding guild, from where they may request to be moved back over once they become active again.
