Sorry to be so dense this evening, but what exactly does the note imply? Since the value of the horn is 8g, and 5 of them are worth 40g, selling them to a merchant would, of course, return 40g.

So worth more than what? Is it referring to the conversion to bone, and trading the bone at a material trader, or perhaps trading for the armor, then selling the armor (for 24g) which seems like too obvious a bad thing to do?
