Removed the {{historical content}} tag. the item is still in game. it is at the same status of the mini polar bear and the mini pig, and those two are not considered historical. Foo 15:08, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Well its unobtainable anymore so isn't it like Clay Brick, thus {{historical content}} --King Of Kamelott Talk Page 02:04, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Not exactly. Clay Brick was never in the game. I agree with Foo. — Rappy 02:12, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Crafter[edit]

Does anyone have the name of the crafter that once offered this sword? Perhaps a screenshot might also help. --Curin Derwin 19:46, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

That would be the only weaponsmith in the Henge, Caprice. It was removed from his list of craftable weapons about 3 years ago. — Gares 20:50, 9 December 2009 (UTC)
*her =P --Curin Derwin 07:44, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
There were more items like that in Denravi if I remember correctly. The warrior -50% hex helmet and some Necro tunic without the rest of the armor. Can someone confirm?62.159.14.62 12:19, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Why was it removed?[edit]

Was there any reason why it was removed from the weaponsmith? I mean, it's well known that ArenaNet's business is to fuck the player in every possible way with each update destroying their own game in the process, but I don't understand the reason behind this. If the possible reason was due "farming", then is ridiculous in the same way, because they also created the inscription system with the same effect, so basically this is another mindless update (one more of the hundreds they did). Scribeton (talk) 06:36, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

No, there was no reason. Thirteen years ago, Anet changed its business model and decided that each subsequent update would only aim to destroy their source of income - you're right.
If you were actually seeking to understand their decision, it would be best not to lash out in obtuse anger. Doing so tends to turn people away from continuing on with what could be a good discussion. Next time, may I suggest writing, "Does anyone know why this item was removed? Was it due to farming? If so, I find it odd that they also created the inscription system which undoes the removal." Greener (talk) 15:35, 23 September 2021 (UTC)
XDDDDDDDDDD and not only this, because in the Amnoon Oasis the weaponsmith Vaughn sells a Battle Axe with Energy +5, so they replaced the sword with an axe, and after that they also introduced the Totem Axe where they even included the grip of enchanting. Everything's a joke in this game. Scribeton (talk) 17:06, 23 September 2021 (UTC)

Caprice[edit]

(Discussion moved from User_talk:Scribeton)

Hi Scribeton. How do you know that the HoD sword came from Caprice? Do you remember or do you have any records? Would love to see those. Foo 07:50, 18 August 2023 (UTC)

I was there in that time and I remember, but for some reason the article omitted that, maybe whoever created the page in the wiki at the beginning didn't know it and simply left the description blank. I also have to create the page for the Unconditional weapons, but that's for another day. Scribeton (talk) 20:47, 18 August 2023 (UTC)
I remember that the HoD was crafted in HoD, but not where exactly. But since Caprice is the only weaponsmith, had to be her. (So just seconding Scribeton) Steve1 (talk) 14:05, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
I appreciate the logic, but I wouldn't assume that the crafter itself didn't change, or that there was always just one... I do accept Scribeton's testimony though :] (now moving this discussion to where it should have been from the start - the hod talk page). Foo 14:09, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
I mean, I remember very well that it was via Caprice because when the item was removed and the prices started to increase ridiculously from night to day due to speculation I regretted not having bought 20 when I could, not a day goes by that I don't regret that fateful day xDDDDD but back in the day no one expected that these things would have speculative value in the future, so you just ignored them. Or like the closed maps, if I had known that half of the Arenas were going to be closed in the future, I would have taken screenshots to preserve what the maps looked like, and now it's impossible to enter and there are no remains of them. It was impossible to know what things were going to be removed or changed, so no one bothered to take photos of many of the changes that were made to the game, we can only pull from memory. Scribeton (talk) 21:23, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
That's interesting! I wasn't there at the time (or wasn't aware). Do you know when it was? Do you remember more about the price increase? Wanna come to the discord to chat about it? I've shared your Ahmtur plea in the Guild Wars Global general discussion channel, and I'm there as gwfoo. Foo 21:55, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
No, I don't remember the date, only that I started to see people selling the sword for a few ectos (like 30e or so in that time, not stacks of 250 or armbraces like today) one random day like any other, and intrigued I entered GW Guru to see what was happening, and I saw a thread talking about it. Then I went to HoD to check the NPC and it was changed already. Nothing more and nothing less, there's no more story than that really. Regarding the Discord, I'm inside already I believe, but the last time that I entered was like 2 years ago in the Silver Edge hunting, I don't use it (mainly because I don't play the game anymore, I left the Ahmtur ad on my wiki profile in case the bell rang, but that's all, because I didn't expect to be lucky either with that matter, I was lucky enough to find the screenshots that I put on the Talk:Page). Scribeton (talk) 22:29, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
That change happened in 2005 iirc. I know people who can't even remember what they had for lunch a day ago. :D Steve1 (talk) 13:24, 20 August 2023 (UTC)
