Talk:Double Dog Dare
From Guild Wars Wiki
This is probably my most favorite quest out of all the ones I worked on for Nightfall. One day Albert Liao and I were brainstorming ideas particularly to do with Vabbi quests we were working on and I had the idea to write a quest with no challenge markers, no leading by the nose, just clues. When we switched to working on Istan I saw the perfect opportunity to do that as a treasure hunt given by a snotty little kid. I stayed up all night one Sunday running through the keys and perfectly planning out how it would go down. I really wanted to give it special attention, carefully crafting each clue (the only blip being that water sparkling like diamonds suddenly appeared all over Istan last minute instead of only being in this one map... oops) with an amusing punchline. It was John Hargrove's ingenious idea to call it Double Dog Dare and incorporate that into the text. I think it turned out rather well over all. - Linsey Murdock 06:15, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
- Quite... but perhaps it may be fitting for this quest to have a reward different than the standard stuff? perhaps a unique weapon skin like the banana scythe? (but different, of course) -68.230.23.1 18:35, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
- I just wish there were more quests like this. It was a lot of fun actually doing something without a bright green star telling you exactly where to go. --Thervold 22:32, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- The portion that says "From beneath the arch of the Twin Queens" seems to suggest that the res shrine nearby would have a statue of Lyssa, but instead there is a statue of Melandru. Did I miss something here? - Countesscorpula August 15th, 2007
