Talk:Drain Delusions

Why do enemy mesmers use this at the start of battle (as soon as you aggro them)? They do it pretty consistently, before any mesmer hexes are thrown on... (Noticed this mostly while SS/LB farming... the margonite seers will use this immediately upon aggro). -Auron 05:11, 9 December 2007 (UTC)

It's PvE AI, its stupid, get over it... Justing6 00:39, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
No it isn't. They also use Ether Phantom and manage to use that combo most of the time. Noctarch 00:31, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
I'll try this on my monk, actually. All I need is a low cost, fast cast and decent recharge to combo it with... for instance, Fragility (don't need points in Illusion), Mind Wrack, or Wastrel's Worry. Small energy gain every 14-ish seconds without wasting my elite, might be worth a shot. Doubt it'll work out like I'm hoping it will be, but let's see first, eh? 157.193.77.103 19:17, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Right, so I finally tried it (couldn't do it earlier due to exams and no laptop nearby). Mind Wrack is ideal to pair up with this. It lasts 30 seconds, so in RA (I wouldn't run it anywhere else... maybe AB's too) you can just cast it on whoever you want and use Drain whenever you need on one of those people you've hexed up until 30 seconds earlier. Of course, you're using up 2 of your slots. I'd actually like to see something like this in serious forms of pvp, though: one person spamming cheap hexes around, so the monks can use Drain Delusions whenever they'd need a quick energy boost. Post-buff[edit]

For 9+1 points in Inspiration magic, you can have basically +11 energy every 12 seconds. That's like +3 energy regeneration right there. Excellent excellent coverhex. Might start using this now. --Eyekwah 13:06, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

This isn't a hex so what exactly is it covering? -- BroodlingUser Broodling67 sig.PNG 01:30, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
I assume he/she meant that the coverhex now might do something apart from covering but re-covering energy ;) Noctarch 20:53, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
Oops. I misread. I assumed this was a redo of the Ether Phantom skill. Sry. :P --Eyekwah 09:42, 28 June 2008 (UTC)

Mind Wrack[edit]

Does Mind Wrack's energy loss counts in when you gain energy? Same question for Ether Phantom's energy loss when removed, does the energy removed count in as the energy you gain per point in this skill (because it says You gain X energy per point of energy lost, not just from this skill). 95.180.84.110 22:47, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Tested it out myself, they don't affect the energy gain (i can understand why, since you would gain like 4x4 (drain) + 4x4 (phantom) + 4x1 (mind wrack) and that would make for a superb energy gain at low recharge and easy fast chain), the description should just say "for each point of energy lost from this skill" or something, because it's confusing this way, same as mind wrack in pve X damage per point lost should mean that if you use let's say [Energy Burn] on a hexed foe it should deal tons of damage according to the description of the skill.Anyways, talking to myself now, hope that anyone who had doubts about this sees this post as well, otherwise it's useless...95.180.84.110 23:40, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
