This update is still garbage. Knights are now more useful then the bodyguard. Splitting is almost useless you're just gonna run in and gank a knight or archer. Might as well remove bodyguard imo. All it does is heal the guild lord. The logical fix for GvG would have been to actually fix Oath of Protection. Anet is breaking whats already broken.Tbarr 21:31, 21 July 2010 (UTC)
Why is it bad that knights are more powerful than bodyguards? Splitting is not supposed to be "lol we wiped their entire base in 20 seconds!" They should have changed Oath of Protection to "guild lord takes 15 less damage and no more then 60 per attack or spell." and placed entourage into play as well. Would make the npcs in pit important and still keeping the bodyguard important. As it stands now the bodyguard is almost useless.

GvG is now more about NPC's. It's like their trying to make VoD decisions without using VoD. The original point of splitting was to take out NPC's for VoD. Now its to take out the NPC's in the lord pit for lord damage. VoD was and is still the better format. Only problem with it was wards, spirits and shouts/chants effecting the npcs. They changed that way back and now wards effect npcs again. Now just to implement VoD again. They should keep the tiebreaker at 28 minutes like they do with "aggression" but make the NPC's still walk out and the trebuchets unusable at/past 18 minutes. This is all just my opinion but still its annoying how I have to take out 4 npcs for solo lord damage as opposed to 1-3 (counting knights and guard depending on if I have flagger/ranger/other warrior/whatever or how late the game is). It's not. The only problem is that people will have to go back to dedicated splitting if they want to outplay their opponents through mobility, rather than run a stand setup that has one or two splittable characters to fill all the aggression requirements should a game be in danger of going to 28. Whether thats an actual problem, or simply an inconvenience for those spoilt by the simplicity of putting an MB on the lord 20 minutes in, I'll leave up to the community. That said, most of the game will play exactly as it had, all they effectively countered was ease with which solo characters could push lord damage. After all, in a proper lord push spiking out the NPC's in quick succession is usually fairly easy work. And it's good to see Archer NPC's finally mean something other than being pin down turrets. Monks will probably hate the added micro of keeping two more npcs alive though. 130.89.170.181 11:54, 30 July 2010 (UTC)
