- The skill can only be confirmed with SoC. I mean, who wastes an Elite slot on Wastrel's Collapse will only be found dead. I mean, even the picture confirms that —Zerpha

[edit] Jerimiah/Jarimiya Was a Bullfrog - Reference confirmed, I think
Jerimiah drops wine, both vabbian and rice. This is a reference to these lyrics:
Jeremiah was a bullfrog, he was good friend of mine. I never understood a single word he said but I helped him drink his wine. He always had some mighty fine wine. Sing it Joy to the world...all the boys and girls now , joy to the fishies in the deep blue sea and joy to you and me.
-Credence Clearwater Revival
Screen caps of his mighty fine wine in this thread: [1] Kalidri 06:15, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- A minor correction on your thread quote of the song's lyrics. Hoyt Axton wrote Joy to the World, although it was made famous by Three Dog Night, not Credence Clearwater Revival. -- Cybertronian 141.225.195.166 01:34, 2 May 2009 (UTC).
[edit] Dual reference?
I suspect that Jarimiya is also a refence to Jiraiya, Naruto's mentor. Jiraiya is one of the Legendary Three Ninja (in GW, ninja = Assassin) and is known as the "Toad Sage" due to his preference to summon toads of various sizes to assist him in battle. (He is also known for his love of drink and women -- the latter to the point of being perverted.) While I suspect the wine reference might come from Jeremiah was a Bullfrog, I think Jiraiya might explain the distinct spelling of Jarimiya, as well as the fact that this boss is an Assassin (despite the fact that there are no other Heket assassins). -- Cybertronian 141.225.195.166 01:34, 2 May 2009 (UTC).
- Sounds plausible, but which came first? Paddymew 06:13, 27 May 2009 (UTC)
- Please no.... I highly doubt Arena.Net would name a boss after a lame anime such as Naruto. :\ -Lena

- The writer's of Naruto aren't as original as you think. I'd say this is a possible reference. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiraiya 98.227.89.223 04:30, 20 September 2009 (UTC)

Comparison GW Song Anime Name Jarimaya Jeremiah (homonym) Jiraiya (same vowel sounds, no em, mangled order) Species Heket (frog-like) Bullfrog shapeshifts into toad Carry-on items Vabbian Wine Mighty fine wine none listed Profession Assassin Heavy partying Ninja First appearance Nightfall (2006) Hoyt Axton (1971) Legend/Folk (early origin) Popular appearance Nightfall (2006) Three Dog Night (1971) Naruto (1997)
- The two references are equally plausible in terms of corresponding points: each compares favorably with the GW boss, with the ninja-like profession giving the edge to the folk tale as source while the Vabbian Wine (in place of mighty fine wine) benefits the song. However, I think it's much more likely that the mostly American developers were influenced by an influential pop-song rather than a less well-known folk talk or its anime descendants. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:42, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
I'd say influenced by a song. So many don't know anime as much as music, to be honest. ♥ Ariyen ♀ 18:15, 20 September 2009 (UTC)
[edit] Path of least fighting to Jarimiya the Unmerciful
The routes listed in the wiki are not the fastest way except perhaps by distance alone. The current wiki map leads you down a narrow, closed canyon with four or more kournan groups, some of which have multiple priests and clerics. The other route also indicated in the wiki, leaving from Yahnur Market, is also packed with fighting and heavy, annoying conditions. If you want to get to Jarimiya in the fastest, most efficient way, then leave the Kodash Bazaar via the Forum Highlands exit in the main plaza of the Bazaar. If you stay to the left (eastern) wall, you will only encounter two weak hecket groups (easy even in HM). There is still one Kournan group you must fight upon entering Vehtendi Valley, but it is right outside the safe little haven of friendly npcs, so should be no problem fighting. Also, be sure to use the narrow path hugging the right (western) wall of Vehtendi Valley in order to bypass the Ritualist Boss who is slightly closer than Jarimiya. That way you can minimize fighting just to Jarimiya and his gang. --Rpger 04:11, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
