Crimson Camp[edit]

I found the best way to do this quest is by going into the Crimson Guard area from the back by the ocean. You can pull the mobs back 2 or 3 at a time until you clean them out.

Repeatable quest[edit]

Should it be added that this quest is repeatable as long as you do not turn in the letter at Jatoro's mother? (you allso have to store your letter at a different char thou) --Marcus--

This quest isn't repeatable. A repeatable quest means you can claim the reward and then get the quest again (such as Securing Echovald Forest). EVERY quest that involves an item can be done multiple times, so long as you don't accept the reward. Once you accept the reward, however, the item vanishes and in most cases, the quest won't be offered again. Notable exceptions are the EoTN dungeon quests. Crimson killed jatoro[edit]

it happens to me 2-3 times that sometimes the crimson group killed jatoro meaning that i have to run again the quest.--Sanmigdark 16:13, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

Does happen to me as well. Quite annoying... 138.246.7.121 15:44, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Yep, happened to me today.

Letter from Jatoro[edit]

People offer to buy letter. Does this works? Jagtiger 21:46, 1 August 2008 (UTC)

Kind of late, but yes, buying the letter works the last time I bought one. Hasaple 01:25, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
Worth noting this on the page? --80.1.123.92 21:34, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

Does anyone else think this quest is complete and utter garbage? You have to fight through a MASSIVE HORDE of enemies, it takes a lot of work and patience. Then, guess what, the guy you are trying to save has decided he wants to join the guys you just killed, in fact he hired them to pretend to kidnap him? Give me ONE good reason you don't waste him right there. He's just proven himself capable of lies and manipulation and a COMPLETE disregard for human life. But we're supposed to think he's all funny and innocent? Awww, how sweet, his mommy supports his decision to rape and murder and steal and torture for his own benefit? What a touching story, AMIRITE? I would give a good deal of plat for the priveledge of murdering both the arrogant jerk of a son and his apparently hideously selfish and moronic mother. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.162.128.122 (talk).

First of all, please remember to sign..second of all, relax ffs, it's just a GAME.... Sentry007 User Sentry007 sig.png 16:57, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Yea, the quest without some kind of level 20 with you does take patience but that's the best part. It really tests teamwork.-- User Vanguard VanguardLogo.pnganguard 16:59, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
Why doesn't A.net label the quest as "Master" difficulty? Plenty of Nightfall quests have it and several of them are a lot easier than this >.> 75.68.113.232 06:38, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

@unsigned comment

Prophecies Character[edit]

How do i get this quest as a prophecies character? Is this part of a chain of quests or is it only acquired by factions characters?

All the Shing Jea Island quests aren't accesable by proph or nf chars--Bold Baby Undies 22:22, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

Not Similar to Nf[edit]

I don't think this quest is really similar to Suwash the Pirate. It's like calling Vanishing Spirits and A Belated Betrothal similar because the both involve ghost lovers or calling Charr Reinforcements and Building the Base: Prisoners of War similar because the both involve ambushes. Suwash in Suwash the Pirate is also implied to be a child who dresses up like a corsair and is not serious about being a pirate (his mother says he'll be back when he get's hungry and that she will "tan his hide"), while the son in this quest is an adult. Although it's already been removed, I think that's just an issue of models. Both seem to me to be cases of teenagers (~15-17 years old). However, I don't think it's relevant enough to note. Konig/talk 22:30, 11 August 2011 (UTC)
