Originally a spell or an enchantment spell?[edit]

In reviewing the history for this skill, I've noticed that GuildWiki lists the earliest versions of Verata's Aura as a spell, rather than an enchantment spell. Has this skill always been listed as just a spell in its original skill description (and then had its text respecify it as an enchantment in an eventual update), or is it simply an error on the GuildWiki page (and thus has the skill always been an enchantment)? Any insight or verification would be appreciated. -- Azasuke1988 03:50, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

If there was an update that changed it, the documentation has been lost, so this wiki will have to make an assumption about when it became an enchantment. I think the safer bet is to assume that it was documented incorrectly to start with (since you've been reviewing article histories, you can see that it was fairly common at the outset of the wikis for this to happen: ppls tried to slap as much detail as quickly as possible...resulting in more than a few typos, most of which got fixed quickly, but some that did not — the same thing tends to happen now with new content).
I also wouldn't rely on someone's memory for something that far back (people remember seeing Moss Spider pets in pre, but there's absolutely no evidence that was ever possible...except possible in the original Beta).
With that as background, I would rely on your evaluation of how to document this skill's history (and others in similar situations) — you've shown good (or very good) judgment to-date. Be bold (and just leave a note, like the one above, that explains the background). – Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:12, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
For the sake of simplicity (and since no evidence actually supports otherwise), I will go ahead and refer to this as an enchantment spell (where applicable). Also, the reliability of sources has been the biggest obstacle in creating new pages and updating existing ones. I use what is available to me, including this very website, the GuildWiki page, the official game guide, and even personal memory - as well as consulting/cross-referencing with in-game sources and other players (whom I know, I course). Understandably, none of these are actually firsthand sources and thus their information may be incorrect, so a great amount of reason and rationality is employed in each one of these pages. Nonetheless, I hope progress is being made. -- Azasuke1988 16:17, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
This skill, along with many other MM skills were changed significantly since back then. It wasn't an enchantment before, as you can see from the description on this page. It simply gave minions a health regeneration bonus. However, the way minions worked at the time (no limit on them), people wouldn't end up having minions for long enough that the minions would degen to death normally, so it was common to simply use heal area to keep up 30-40 minions (depending on the difficulty of the area obviously). If the version of the skill being discussed is different from the one on the page then I'm not sure, but the skill was completely changed in functionality, thus resulting in the current form: self-enchant. 66.27.102.104 01:52, 23 March 2012 (UTC)
