Talk:Weapon swap
From Guild Wars Wiki
o.o So a 40/40 set isnt 40/40? Can someone explain the math behind that?--Ryudo 20:40, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
20% of 80 is 16, not 20. 20+16=36. Backsword 20:47, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- I can make a try. First, it calculates the 20% chance if your first weapon. Then you have a 20% chance of success, and a 80% chance of not getting the bonus. After that, it calculates the second weapon separately, same numbers. This way, you have a 20% by 20% chance (0.2*0.2 = 0.04 = 4%) to get both those bonuses. And you have two chances of getting at least one of those bonuses, so 2 times 80% (no bonus) by 20% (getting bonus) (2*0.8*0.2=0.32 = 32%). - anja

- (Edit conflict) :The two 20% chances are independent of each other and there is a chance that they will overlap. A 4% chance to be exact (.20 * .20 = .04). But they wont stack; there's no chance to get a QCT/QRT out of it. So it is more accurately a 36/36 set. --Valshia 20:56, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm...I see. But I could have sworn I nailed a 1 second cast time on a meteor shower once in FA, using a 40/40 set...I remember it quite vividly as an "omfg wtf" kind of moment.--Ryudo 21:04, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- According to the article casting time bonus does in fact stack... (edit) Also see Gwiki's 40/40 article - anja

- I stand corrected then (as the gwiki article cites sources). That one will stack but not the other seems inconsistent, but whatever. --Valshia 21:40, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

i believe casting time increase does stack but not exceding 50% which doesnt change anything with those anyway :P--Vørråx 21:17, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Haven't tested recently. May be a cap there too now. Used to be no caps on anything, at release. Backsword 21:44, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- It does.
is for Raine, etc. 01:50, 3 December 2009 (UTC)
- Item HCT and HSR stack as many times as you have them. There's only a cap on effects granted by skills.
- Also, who uses + health mods on a defensive swap? +60 Health doesn't make you take less damage. +28 armor does. ~Shard
