Condition Removal on Monk Primaries in PvE[edit]

If it's not Restore Condition it's not worth taking. Here is why:

Burning: Degeneration that tends to have a short duration. The Divine Favor bonus will probably heal the bulk of damage caused by the -7. Not worth spending the 5 energy to remove it at all.

Blind: Blind comes in two forms in PvE; constant, and what I would call once a fight. Constant Blindness comes from enemies with Blinding Surge or Blinding Flash as you will notice the instance the Blind expires/is removed it is almost immediately applied right back on. Well worth the 5 energy to get that one attack in between periods of Blindness. If you have one physical make them swap to a wand instead so they can at least build adrenaline, or interrupt anything dropping traps and perhaps Dazed enemies if your setup includes a source. In multiple physical groups someone can suck up the Blind until that enemy dies; it's not like one physical not hitting means the difference between life and death. My 5 energy is better spent dishing out a 250 point Word of Healing than letting my warrior connect with an auto-attack. Once a fight Blindness are skills like Throw Dirt or Eruption where you can see them coming in ample time to interrupt. As such have someone loaded with an interrupt given the universal uses of interrupts against other foes as well. Alternatively Song of Purification works quite well in dealing with both applications of the Blind condition.

Cripple: Doesn't matter in PvE. Even a Cripple can walk out of AoE and it's not like you need to kite from enemies when you have Aegis, Enfeebling Blood, or "Save Yourselves!". Not worth spending 5 energy to remove it.

Disease: Bring a party heal instead or Song of Purification, again for their universal use in other situations. A single spot removal isn't going to help stop the spreading of Disease significantly enough to have a detrimental effect on the battle's outcome. Also unless everyone who is Diseased is also taking significant focused fire whatever party heals you have will clean it up.

Cracked Armor: Aegis chain, Weakness, Daze, kiting, "Save Yourselves!", every other method of mitigating damage; it's a PvP condition, you should never die because Cracked Armor was the decisive factor resulting in the wipe.

Poison: Like Disease but doesn't spread. If it's being spread, party heal. Otherwise a spot heal because of the universal use.

Bleeding: Less damage than Poison. Same rules apply.

Deep Wound: For the -100 health to become a problem odds are whoever has Deep Wound has been taking quite a beating. In which case they should already be receiving whatever prots your monks have available until whatever spot heal they have has recharged to bring them back to a safe health level. I'm better off using Word of Healing, despite the 20% less healing benefit, then the 5 energy to cast say Dismiss Condition to heal for about the same when you take into account the removal of Deep Wound. This is again because a spot heal is going to come in handy in more situations than a condition removal, considering that against mobs that apply no conditions it's as if you'd be using 7 skills.

Dazed: Well if it's on you and you're being pressure you will certainly have a hard time trying to remove it when your condition removal is constantly being interrupted. Dazed is only a problem if it's on the monks, in which case it's just going to stick unless both monks have a removal for some reason. Song of Purification and a fallback skill that isn't a spell is going to be a more reliable route *if* you are expecting to encounter Dazed frequently, which is pretty rare. Soulrending Shriek comes to mind, but unless you're up against large mobs of the Cryptwing Incubus there is no need to take any special precautions against it. Dazed is just far too uncommon to really make a big deal out of it.

Weakness: This has a case however it would be determined on a zone by zone basis. If whatever has weakness can apply it quickly/in AoE form will be accompanied by a healer and your group relies heavily on physical damage then use Song of Purification. Spot removal still won't be as effective if the Weakness can be applied that quickly. If there are no healers in the group, oh well, so you kill them a little slower. Anyone using a physical heavy party is running some +damage skills anything that aren't affected by the Weakness.

If you disagree about anything I'd be more than welcome to listen to the reasoning. However think long and hard about what else you could be doing with that 5 energy.
