After long flight delays and a not-so-restful night's sleep, I am at the NCsoft studio in Texas. It's really hot here. Like really REALLY hot here. I'm looking forward to a day of meetings where we'll discuss a plethora of web and wiki related items. I'll make sure to pop in and keep an eye on the wiki bug pages to make sure everything is running smoothly, though :)

Today's the start of my week, since I was out yesterday with food poisoning from eating some bad fast food. Even though I managed to crawl over to email yesterday, I'm still playing some major catch up. I'll dive into wiki questions as soon as I work through all of my inbox flags :)

One of these days I'm going to break my odd cycle of random sicknesses (I hope, at least).

I just got back from a wickedly painful dentist visit, so my concentration level is pretty low right now. I'm going to attribute this to my throbbing face (well, pretty much my entire head). Instead of taking the day to go home and be miserable, I'm going to take it easy and work on the wiki a bit. That should make me feel better. UserEmilyDiehlGrin.gif

For the curious, here are some things I am working on.

  • My GW1 model viewer has decided to do some wacky things, so I'm dead in the water on renders until I can kidnap a programmer and lock them in a room until they push a few fixes for me. The good news is that only some models are affected, so I can get some items up. The bad news is that I can't tell if a model is going to look funky until I open it up. So this not only ups the time it takes me to do stuff, but it's also a crapshoot on what items I can and can't do right now. Hopefully I can get back to normal soon with that.
  • I'm still following up on the skill sounds question. Like most things, asking that spurred a bunch of other offshoots and "what ifs", so I don't have a solid answer on that stuff yet. Sorry guys. I'm not forgetting about it.
  • I'm hopping on a plane with some of our web guys to meet up with the folks that are in charge of servers like the ones our wikis are housed on. We're going to talk about future plans for the websites and the wikis, so I'll be bringing a list of discussion points based on tech requests and issues I've been on top of here (although those guys comb the wiki bugs and tech requests as much as I do...they just hide more :p). I'm looking forward to sitting down and talking wiki with them :)
  • Lots of future plans for the website and such. We've really got a ton going on. I wish I could share more, but I can't. I'll just be happy with teasing you instead =p

I'll leave you with a picture of my awesome horror themed fish tank that resides between Regina and me on the edge of my desk (complete with awesome $1 bat on the top from last Halloween). The denizens of the tank include two albino Corys, a Gourami, an albino red tailed shark, a glass catfish, and three bleeding heart tetras. For those wondering, I tried to pick fish that looked undead or gory in some way, shape or form. Well, except for the Gourami. He's just cool looking.

The weather here in Seattle is amazing lately, yet I spent about 98% of my time this weekend holed up playing GTA4. I'm operating on a partial brain today because I stayed up until 5 am and got up at 8. I'm so dumb. Luckily, my Mondays are a lot of scheduling and meetings, so I can go on auto pilot with the help of caffeine. I like that I can look like a zombie at work and replying to any questions with the name of a game gets an understanding "Ohhhh OK...yeah, me too" from almost anyone that asks about my condition. XD

No wonder so many non-gamers think gamers are completely insane.
