Thanks for the heads up although I don't know how to delete it but it has been moved --Sheleighli 05:05, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

I've tagged it for deletion. Thankyou -Smurf User Smurf.png 05:06, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

Image replace

Hey smurf, could you upload the good version of this file, currently it is making me cringe... :) --Lemming64 21:12, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

heh poke beat you to it. --Lemming64 21:20, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Brick of Mud

cool, where did that come from then? --Lemming64 11:57, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

The crafter has little icons in the window for the materials it requires -Smurf User Smurf.png 12:00, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Cloudless pics

Hi there Smurf, was just wondering if you could possibly tell me how do you remove the clouds off the screenshots taken of the map (if it's still possible) - as I saw you did here. It's to help me with my cartographer title (i.e. set the layer to difference over a complete map.) I realise you can take screenshots of the U map instead, but I simply haven't the patience :P Thanks! Neo9001 19:05, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

For the cartography title, a full fog-less map would be useless since it would show areas your character couldn't uncover. The easiest way would still be to use the U map at the highest screen resolution you can go and the U map window expanded across the whole screen. -Smurf User Smurf.png 01:34, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
If you can find someone with 100% to send you their map screenshot, you can take yours at the exact same frame of cloud animation (it loops, and every time you open the map it resets) and then use an image editing program on "difference" mode to highlight which areas are different between your maps. It might take spamming the screencap button a few times. - BeX 03:57, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm willing to take a few screenshots for you of my and Agremas 100% Tyrian maps. Can't help with the others yet though. :( -- Gem (gem / talk) 06:14, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

Skill icons

Hey, cheers for uploading those skill icons! I'm just wondering if you know which faction the skills were obtained from. Looking at this image, a lot of the icons are different. I'm just hoping the skill description is consistent between factions :/ AT(talk | contribs) 01:56, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

I got mine on the Kurzick side, and I think they are different. I replaced Image:Selfless_Spirit.jpg thinking it was a mistake. oops :) -Smurf 01:59, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
That's pretty bizzare. I'm not sure whether to upload the other icons and show them as well somehow, mainly because I've no idea how it could be done without messing up layouts. Oh joy :( AT(talk | contribs) 02:08, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
Ask someone to add a parameter to the skill infobox to show two icons side by side. - BeX 02:09, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
I've had a go here: User:AT/Skillbox. AT(talk | contribs) 02:44, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Quest list lost data

Nice spotting that one, no idea how I managed to lose all that data without noticing it. Thanks! --Dirigible 18:30, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Wiseman's Opinion

Oh hail Master of Picture Cutting.. sir... i have uploaded 2 Pictures of characters of mine fully cutted out with weapons on my Userpage, please check it out.. don't look at the neon though that was for the black background seems my image will look better then. File:Tomoko's Cookie.jpg Tomoko 16:39, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

If your only going to use those pics on a black background, they look wonderful while retaining a small file size. Are you looking to use them on any background? Because there appears to be a black 1px wide border around the characters. -Smurf 01:51, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

ArenaNet images...

I don't think images you screen cap and crop and clean up should get the "arenanet" tag. Do you have reason to believe otherwise? My understanding is that this tag is to ensure that no one takes the images provided by ANet (like Emily's) and uses them elsewhere. Screenshots don't really fall under that. --Karlos 02:38, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I thought screenshots should also use the arenanet tag since it's their property and not released under GFDL. Is there a better tag out there? -Smurf 02:42, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
You are correct Smurf. All images from the game belong to Anet and should be tagged as such. --Rainith 02:50, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
{{screenshot}}. - BeX 03:58, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
The image policy needs to be updated. -Smurf 04:04, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Yeah see the anet template talk page. - BeX 04:06, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

Screenshot vs. animation

Should we place the dance animation files to Categroy:Animations instead of Category:Screenshots? -- Gem (gem / talk) 16:23, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Fine by me. -Smurf 16:26, 1 July 2007 (UTC)
I just don't know how it should be done. Should we create a new template or stick a parameter in {{screenshot}}. -Smurf 16:44, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

ss??

I see you've gone over the list of images i upploaded like These, but there not screen shots, there extracted from gw.dat ~ KurdKurdsig.png 18:44, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

The {{arenanet image}} tag, I believe, is meant for renders from arenanet staff and images from the website. All other images taken from in-game, I believe, is to have the {{screenshot}} tag, regardless of how it's obtained. -Smurf 18:51, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

moving picture

this question has nothing to do with internet or guildwars, i want to know how you made the picture of the roller beatle move? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:67.67.161.12 .

I believe he would have taken an in game video and exported the frames of that video as separate images into a program that can make animated gifs. Then it's simply a matter of cutting out the backgrounds for each image, setting the desired frame length and order and exporting it as an animated .gif. :) - BeX iawtc 04:43, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
does anyone know what program he used?--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:67.67.161.12 .
"I use Fraps for video capturing and ImageReady to create the GIF" [1] (Image ready is part of Photoshop). - BeX iawtc 08:24, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Where can I download those?--The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:67.67.161.12 .

You have to buy Photoshop and fraps. Though I think both do free trials. Try searching on Google, they are pretty well known programs. --Lemming64 19:01, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
Its not working, when i load the video onto photoshop and then save it, the picture doesn't move, can someone send me a video of how it is done, my e-mail is , put the subject as the video of how its done. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:67.67.161.12 .
I'm sure Smurf will do his best to let you know as soon as he can. I hid your email address so you don't get completely spammed. :P - BeX iawtc 02:26, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
ok, thats probably a good idea about the e-mail.
I had trouble importing Fraps videos into ImageReady so I ended up using VirtualDub. With that you can save the frames as still images (File → Save image sequence...). Save them to an empty folder and in ImageReady import the folder as frames (File → Import → Folder as Frames...). To get a white background you can use a program like Texmod and replace the ground texture with a white image. -Smurf 08:38, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Re: Teamspeak on Guild:Ravens Shadow

I respectfully disagree. Unless the rule ...No guild article may transclude a page outside the Guild: or Template: namespaces. is reworded to allow exceptions to external links, ALL transluded [2] pages are disallowed. I'll err on the side of caution and won't delete it for now, but please take a look at this and submit it to the admin for reconsideration. My goal here is to amend this nebulous rule, and make it more specific in regards to excluding external linksAnita Blochob 17:07, 25 July 2007 (UTC)Anita Blochob

GuildWars.ds levels

Thank you for the Integration link! All of those levels work! For example, you can open the GuildWars.ds file and look for:

# Divine Path L351:Guild Wars Factions Original Soundtrack/24_Bonus_Track_4.wma[0],Guild Wars Factions Original Soundtrack/01_Guild_Wars_Factions_Theme.wma[0]

And add the following line after that:

# Bone Palace L438:Guild Wars Nightfall Collector's Edition/01_The_Bone_Palace.wma[0]

If you have the collector's edition, the track 'The Bone Palace' will play in... yes! The Bone Palace! Maybe not all numbers correspond to levels, but all those levels have correct numbers. MithranArkanere 03:33, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Probably a dumb question but...

How do you get those images with no visible backgrounds, like your recent Wailing Staff screenies? -elviondale (tahlk) 20:21, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

I used TexMod and replaced the ground and wall textures with white. -Smurf 20:38, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

in-game wiki links

As you're updating the link directories, I'm guessing that you're still seeing them in-game, correct? For some reason, I no longer see them in-game. I'm guessing that I accidentally unchecked something, but I can't seem to locate it in the menus. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 18:06, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

The help menu doesn't show up when you press F10 in the game. That is where the links are at. Saw you posted this somewhere else but figured I comment here. --Sktbrd341 18:10, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Heh - tells you how long it has been since I used those links in-game, I usually just keep a window open to the wiki and never use them directly. When they were first introduced, I could've sworn that they were actually in my quest list and on the alliance page. Oh well - maybe just shoddy memory on my part. --- Barek (talkcontribs) - 18:15, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
Its all good, I have had days where I forget things. --Sktbrd341 18:19, 2 September 2007 (UTC)

Ahoy, could you make skill animations like those dance animations? Something like Inferno and protective spirit would look really cool on this site, also the spell animations for each profession, it doesn't help anyone but it would look cool. --Cursed Angel 19:38, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Image:For Elona!.jpg

Shouldn't you have put quotation marks in the file name? You made a double redirect. — Wai Fung 04:52, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Image:For Elona!.jpg

This is a double redirect. Also, shouldn't you have put quotation marks in the file name? — Wai Fung 05:08, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

The article For Elona! was moved creating the double redirect. Either the skill name was changed in-game or I created the article in the wrong place. Either way, I moved the image. -Smurf 05:49, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
btw, did you do this with a bot that all pages that used the image's previous name changed to the new one? Or did you have to do this on your own? —ZerphatalkThe Improver 13:21, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
I edited them manually since there was only 4 pages. -Smurf 14:27, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
ah, ok. thanks :) —ZerphatalkThe Improver 19:44, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
