Side Account[edit]

May I ask... why the side account? --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 22:28, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

I was bored and noticed the name wasn't taken. More created just for the heck of it :P --U T O P I A N
Ok.. On another note, you can add a timestamp after your signature by entering another tilde (useful for trying to find out when a comment was made). --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 22:35, 27 June 2008 (UTC)
I guess :P Its the tackiest thing in the world though. U T O P I A N 22:37, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Userpage[edit]

-doesn't know why he's doing this on his own talk page- If anyone reads this, and they're semi-userpage savvy and would be willing to help me, I'd appreciate it. —Utopian

Nevermind, got a good enough one for now. —Utopian

Three tildes or four?[edit]

Are you using three tildes when you sign? Just asking because your comments on User talk:Wandering Traveler don't include the date. Four tildes gives the signature and date. --Kakarot Talk 03:41, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Three, I only leave four in busy conversations. —Utopian
You should use four on talk pages since it allows people to see when you commented. --Kakarot Talk 03:44, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
I know; its a bad habit of mine. Sorry :P —Utopian 03:44, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
They can see that in history. The point of dates is to provide context: what other posts would the writer have been aware of? Backsword 03:53, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Context? I'm not quite sure I understand... —Utopian 04:01, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Nice name.[edit]

Why'd you choose it? Vael Victus Pancakes. 14:12, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Its just a common name I have for all my internet accounts. I'm not quite sure why I have it though :P —Utopian 19px]] 17:12, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Welcome[edit]

Heya Utopian, just to let you know that copy/pasted or templated welcomes have in the past created problems and are rather discouraged. Welcoming new users is great, but just type them a personal note with the pertinent information :D --Wyn's Talk page Wynthyst 08:46, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Ooh really? Ok; I'll mark it for deleton or w/e (: Thanks for the heads up! —Utopian 08:49, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
You can keep it as a reference of pertinent shortcut links and stuff, just don't copy/paste the text or subst it in. :D--Wyn's Talk page Wynthyst 08:52, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Oh, okay :P I'm heading off to bed, so I'll (probably) talk to you tomorrow. Good night (: —Utopian

Notes at the top[edit]

Don't edit comments. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 09:08, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Also, you might want to do something about the code -- it's harder to add new comments if one can't do it by clicking the +. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 09:09, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
You didn't have to remove it altogether -- I've seen some user talk pages with formatting in that was similar to yours. As long as it doesn't hinder the ability to easily add comments, it should be fine. For example, User talk:Fall has formatting but it's still possible to add a new section with the +. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 09:37, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
The formatting didn't work in all browsers and everytihng anyways. I'm perfectly fine with a blank page :p —Utopian 09:40, 30 June 2008 (UTC)
Ok, if that's ok with you :P --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ talk 10:11, 30 June 2008 (UTC)

Maintenance[edit]

Hi Utopian, I noticed you have a link to User:Utopian/Redirect on your userpage that redirects to Category:Maintenance, did you know that you could link directly to the category using the code [[:Category:Maintenance]] instead of creating a redirect? --Kakarot Talk 13:39, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

No, I didn't! I tried a previewed several times to get it to work; I didn't know you had to put in a colon in front. I'll go change that right now (: —Utopian 23:24, 4 July 2008 (UTC)
Yeah without the colon it just adds the page to the category. Oh and if you no longer need that redirect page; just wondering since it's presently being categorized into the Maintenance category which is actually how I first noticed it; just tag it with the code {{delete|U1: User request|speedy}} :) --Kakarot Talk 04:11, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
I have a couple pages I need to delete actually *speeds off to go tag them* Thanks for your help! —Utopian 04:13, 5 July 2008 (UTC)
