User talk:Xeeron/suggestions/All Professions in Noob areas.

Too many changes, requiring too much work, to essentially create a whole new game. In addition, it could provide for far too many adavantages, or possible exploits in areas where otherwise there is some balance. For instance, in pre, some of the other professions and skill sets 'might' be able to somehow enhance obtaining the Legendary Defender of Ascalon title, or for that matter, possibly make getting both survivor and LDoA titles on the same character, depending on what skills were made available, of course. To prevent that scenario, developers would really have to test the 'possibilities', which would be more time consuming and costly than it would be worth, and could ruin the flow of the game in general. Noob areas like pre, in essence, are meant to be a form of tutorial for new players just starting out, thus the developers would have to add quests to accomodated the additional professions, in order for skills to be obtained, and for new players to learn the skills, since it is possible for a totally new player to have bought all the campaigns.--209.194.208.116 20:17, 31 December 2008 (UTC)

Without a hard res spell, there is no way to get LDoA and Survivor on the same character without having another account die endlessly so that you didn't accrue the deaths for death leveling. As long as they don't add any new monsters of higher levels, Pre-Searing is safe from the dreaded double title.
The skills to use for implementing the idea are basically already chosen. For the two Nightfall classes, just give the skills that are available right after the first mission, and the two each from the start. And the Factions classes just give the skills available from the Headmaster and the 2 trainers you are sent to for each profession. Here are the skills I mentioned, by class:
Assassin - Unsuspecting Strike, Dancing Daggers, Shadow Refuge, Fox Fangs, Death's Charge, Shroud of Distress, Twisting Fangs
Ritualist - Painful Bond, Vengeful Weapon, Pain, Brutal Weapon, Union, Generous was Tsungrai, Spirit Rift
Paragon - Anthem of Flame, Barbed Spear, Mending Refrain, Signet of Synergy, Wild Throw, Leader's Comfort, Spear of Lightning
Dervish - Chilling Victory, Crippling Sweep, Grenth's Fingers, Heart of Holy Flame, Imbue Health, Whirling Charge, Vital Boon, Pious Assault
Those are all skills immediately available to each member of those classes, primary or secondary (barring a secondary profession change). Some of them would indeed make farming in Pre-Searing easier. But lets face it, that is not exactly hard to do, with the limits that exist there now. It would require, at most 16 npcs (4 per class) with appropriate quests, and a couple other dialog changes. As for drops, those should be easy to implement as well.
Moving on to Shing Jea, again there would need to be some dialog changes, but even fewer npcs to add, since each profession is only represented by 3 people, and there would only be 2 new professions. A few drop adjustments as well, of course.
Not being a programmer, I don't know how hard all of that would really be. But from my standpoint, it doesn't look like much work at all short of testing and tweaking to ensure it goes smoothly. Guildwarsrunner 06:40, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
as far as game lore goes this only becomes an issue when considering shing jea. According to EotN there where Assassins in Ascalon. Pargons and Dervishes took rather long trips to tyria. A Krytan ambasador apears outside Ascalon city (kryta and ascalon were at war durring pre-searing)and we know that canthans can travel from cantha to kryta and from there to ascalon. however acording to lore shing jea only accepts canthan students, so foreigner starting there would find themselves in a rather cold enviroment. Nightfall however is all about the mixing of the cultures in one place, that what Kormir was doing while you were out getting shot in the face by corsairs so there lil storyline issue there and i apologize for the double edit miscliced.174.144.68.130 17:34, 28 January 2009 (UTC)
