Destination Marker (Discussion)
Allow players to use the map to set a destination marker for themselves. A click on the map can set the marker, double-clicking that marker can make it disappear.
- Why this is a good idea
- Helps players move across the world with ease.
- Can be used as a waypoint to visit specific locations in an area
- Why it may not work out
- In a three-dimensional world, it might difficult to use a two-dimensional map to travel.
Treasure Hunting
Give map markers the special ability to glow if the player is lucky enough to set the marker in a random spot. This can only work if that character is in the explorable area, and if the character follows the marker, it will reveal a random set of treasure. The location of this treasure can be randomised each time a person goes to an explorable area, but can only be claimed once for each area.
- Why this is a good idea
- Expands on the current method of treasure chests that can be found in Nightfall
- Rewards a person for using the map marker, based on luck.
- Why it may not work out
-
Users will spend time clickingBotters will exploit this and use them to click on every space on the map to find the treasure - making it unchallenging. - There will (presumably) be chests for players to find anyway.
