Guilds ruling Tyria (Discussion)

I remember when Factions were out AB were the craze and you wouldn't need to wait for the other side to gather enough members to fight you. I think that problems with AB were is that they came out of fashion because boons they gave were nice but in the end would not make much of a difference.

Ok my suggestion goes like this. What if AB and CM actually had some influence on the world-wide gameplay? Like when you have conquered enough territory to own a town you could launch an offensive against another neighboring territory? The more territory you own the more NPC you could send into the fray. Of course this would cause a guild owning more territory to become more powerful. By giving guilds option to form alliances they could either join the big guild or could unite against the bigger threat.

Additional options of balancing could include rate of Monsters/Nations/Races raiding your territory proportional to size of your territory (if random events are implemented in GW 2) or some sort of upkeep cost that increases as the territory expands.

Why this is a good idea
  • Adding additional dynamics to GvG interaction

Why it may not work out
  • Hard to implement
  • Guilds growing too powerful
