Universal armor (Discussion)

Players should be able to wear the armor of both our professions. This will allow for much greater character customization, giving players double the options to make our characters look unique. For example: an assassin with dervish style hood, or a warrior necro with mohawk and scar pattern, built like a tank. I think the physical build of the character should be determined by the primary (i.e. a W/any should always be big built while A/any should always be slim). Maybe, when changing secondaries, we would have to visit a barber to change to our new profession's hair/tattoos, but since we pay a crafter (a fortune!) to make armor, maybe we could simply go buy new gear when we change professions.

Why this is a good idea
  • Would give us double the customization options when creating characters.
  • Players can mix and match with the armour parts we like from both professions.
Why it may not work out
  • Players may have to choose your secondary prof when first creating characters*
  • Secondary armour would have to become unwearable when you change professions to reflect you are no longer of that profession; players would have to be prepared to remove armour/buy more to change professions.
  • More designing spent to fit one armor for all.

Universal armor penalties (Discussion)

Characters belonging to any profession should be allowed to wear the armor of other professions. This would be appreciated by players, but should obviously have some limits. For example, if an elementalist wanted to wear warrior armor, then he or she should be able to and get the full benefits, but, because they are not a warrior, a penalty should happen; the elementalist should have low energy regeneration, their spells are less effective, or it would affect movement because they are not used to wearing heavier armor. If a warrior decides to wear monk armor, then maybe it could result in faster attack speed. If not, then the warrior could run faster, due to the fact that he or she is used to heavier armor.

Why this is a good idea
  • People may like this because they often like a certain profession's armor, but not the profession itself.
  • Some might like the armor's benefits (i.e. the rangers' elemental resistance).
Why it may not work out
  • It would be a little confusing at first.
  • It would probably take some work and kind of breaks Guild War tradition.
