Ineptitude Ineptitude (last update: February 6th, 2008)

William Wallace Issue -- 20:37, 19 May 2008 (UTC)

Discussion

Issue
Does mediocore damage that can easiliy be out healed by one Word of Healing. Only last four seconds so very little use in pvp and is to visible to distinguish it from other less serious hexes. Blindes for ten seconds which there are better non-elite ways to blind foes and a twenty second recharge.
Suggestion
Change the functionality where for ten seconds whenever target foe attacks; that foe loses 30 up to 142 health and keep the twenty second recharge time. In other words a more powerful version of empthay and since this skill belongs to illusion magic, you will have to split your attributes reallly hard if you also want to deal a lot of damage with empathy because it belongs to domination magic (you will either have to sacrifice inspiration magic which will hinder your energy management or sacrifice your fast casting which will make you susceptible to interrupts).

Armond's issue - 16:33, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Issue
Insane amount of damage at an instant's notice. This skill is a spike in and of itself simply because there's no counter - even a bad mesmer will cover it, rending hex removal useless (because there's so goddamn little of it), and any mesmer with half a brain will cast it while the warrior's attacking, leaving perhaps half a second for the warrior to realize it's on him and disengage, which isn't realistically possible. It also blinds for a pretty insane (non-scaling) duration.
Suggestion
Reduce damage to 5...25...30; reduce blind duration to 0...2...3, reduce recharge to 15.

Also, I know this skill is supposed to be comparably powerful to Clumsiness, which is also overpowered. :/ -- Armond WarbladeUser Armond sig image.png 16:55, 29 June 2008 (UTC)

Gordon Ecker's issue - 03:11, 15 August 2008 (UTC) (Discussion)

Issue
Underpowered in PvE. The single target damage isn't competitive with the more spammable AoE damage of the non-elite Clumsiness and Wandering Eye, and the blindness has less than 50% uptime, making it unreliable as martial shutdown.
Suggestion
  1. Split PvE and PvP versions, adjust PvE version's recharge time and/or maximum blindness duration to make the blindness sustainable.
  2. Adjust recharge time and/or maximum blindness duration to make the blindness sustainable, reduce damage to reduce PvP spike potential.

Chaos Messenger's Issue

Issue
It's just a 4 second "don't attack" that takes an elite slot.
Suggestion
Give it an end effect if it lasts its full duration.. like a few seconds of blindness or damage.

Issue
hard hit for pvp but almost useless in pve.
Suggestion
Change
  • 15e, 3sec cast, 15recharge
  • Daze and Blind foe for 0-10sec

sweet and simple skill that really does make a single target inept.

Issue

Good PvP skill, lack PvE uses.
Suggestion
allow it to affect adjacent foes as well, which makes it handy in PvE area and GvG to ease spike pressure off.

10 Energy1 Activation time20 Recharge time Elite Hex Spell. For 4 seconds, the next time target foe attacks, that foe and adjacent foes takes 135...27...0 damage and becomes Blinded for 10 seconds.
