Displacement Displacement

Lancy's Issue -- -Active Rituals-

Issue
-VERY passive, too weak to achieve it's full effect.
-Part of my campaign of making binding rituals active.
-Cant be spammed. Dies too quick. Blocks normal attacks.
-Only useful with Ritual Lord.
Suggestion

10 Energy2 Activation time25 Recharge time - (Communing) - Binding Ritual. "Create a level 1...5...6 Spirit. All non-spirit allies within earshot gain a 50% chance to block incoming attacks. Displacement dies after 6 seconds." For every 3 ranks in Spawning Power, - Displacement lasts 1 second longer.--Lancy1214 23:18, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

Yullive's Issue 21:57, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Issue
The spirit loses too much health by blocking harmless incoming attacks (like staff/wand attacks from average enemys) and dies too quick. The effect does not justify the high energy cost and activiation and recharge time.
Idea
Restrict the ability to block to attack skills, which are more dangerous. Follow: Spirit lives longer and prevents more dangerous damage.
Suggestion

15 Energy3 Activation time45 Recharge time - (Communing) - Binding Ritual. Creates a level 1...11...13 Spirit. Non-Spirit allies within earshot have a 75% chance to block incoming attack skills. Every time the Spirit prevents an attack, it takes 60 damage. This Spirit dies after 20...32...35 seconds.

Darth's Idea Darth The X 05:31, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Issue
Far too weak, dies almost instantly and prevents almost no damage in PvP
Suggestion
Split this into a PvP version

Displacement (PvP) 5 Energy1 Activation time10 Recharge time Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...10...12 spirit that lasts for 1...12...15 seconds which gives all allies within its range a 75% chance to block incoming attacks. Each time an attack is blocked this spirit takes 60...32...25 damage.

Changes like this to all spirits would make them more viable in PvP by makin them more mobile.

Tounaku's Issue

Issue
Far too weak and passive. Does not last nearly as long as it should and requires too much in order to be useful on any level in PvP.
Suggestion
Displacement (PvP)

10 Energy2 Activation time25 Recharge time Binding Ritual. Create a level 1...10...12 spirit. All non-spirit allies within range of the spirit have a 50% chance to block attacks. Each time an attack is blocked in this way, the spirit takes 70...42...35 damage. This spirit dies after 15 seconds.

This makes Displacement far sturdier and active in a fight. The reducution in blocking ability makes sure that the spirit will no longer simply block a flurry of random attacks before dying after 5 seconds of being cast. This change will make Displacement more like a pre-nerf Aegis. However, the fact that this particular version of Aegis is held in place by a spirit grants its own balance. Since it's a spirit, it can't be removed like an enchantment, which gives Ritualists an edge in that regard. However, simply because it is a spirit, it can be killed just like other spirits, thus removing the Aegis-like effect from the enemy party. The 10 second cool-down also contributes to balancing.

euphoracle's idea

Issue
It effects summons. In pve, you have to choose "take a mm or the rit" and the mm will always get the vote because meat shields are more effective than weak party prot.
Solution
Make it not affect summoned creatures.
